Forever Spring

Forever Spring

The Winter gusts are diminishing
As the infant New Year crawls
And the brighter days are drawing near

The Spring winds will be warmer
Now that you are near
I watch the birds fly across the vernal sky
And one by one they flock home

I wish I was flying with them
Now that you are here
Like the sun on my face you came to love me
Like the new grass blowing in the breeze you arrive

Through Spring’s emerald gown
We skipped and danced our way
You always loved this time of year
The budding plants exploding now

Like the new grass blowing in the breeze you arrive
Like the sun on my face you came to love me
A gentle rain pours softly on my delighted eyes
As to embolden my tears of joy my life will be forever Spring!

I hope you like this poem. I took one of my favorite songs/poems from the group Moody Blues entitled "Forever Autumn" and adapted to my favorite season! I hope you give me "poetic" license to give tribute to one of my favorite bands and their skills as poets.

I haven't either but last night I saw Justin Hayward's concert on PBS and he sang all of hit songs, including Forever Winter. Thanks Pal for stopping by.

 I was listening to Jeff Wayne's musical version of 'The War of the Worlds' only yesterday. As you know that's where the song comes from and it's actually sung by Moody Blues singer Justin Hayward.
Sorry to be a bit of a tit
