Cant Happen Here Contaminated fish and micro chips. Huge supertankers on Arabian trips. Oily propaganda from the leaders lips all about the future. People over here people over there everybodys fighting for a little more air. Crossing all the borders just to take their share planning for the future. Turner As I sit here writing this blog, I am listening to Robert Kennedy Jr while he gives a speech at the Pierce College Liberty Theatre in Puyallup Washington. The basic message of his speech is the<b> perversion </font></b>of the free market system by corporate amerika by circumventing environmental law to enrich themselves but pass on the cost of their activities to the next generation. In a perfect world the full cost of producing your product is reflected in the cost of the product. When your product whether it be lumber or strip mined coal hides the cost of their environmental damage by paying of politicians it then becomes our that pay the cost. Right here in Spokane you can't eat the fish that come from our river. In the Adirondacks of New York 20 percent of the lakes are sterilized by natural acid rain produced by coal fired power plants. (If it was your nut being sterilized you would care.) In the Appalachians vast stretches of land are turned into moonscapes, leaving the surrounding communities doomed to perpetual poverty when they leave. It is easy to create the illusion of prosperity when your running hundreds of billions of dollars of debt and devastating the environment. The neo con jobs would like for you to believe that we are saving the forests to save a spotted owl. The truth is many of these trees have more value to us standing as a forest than on a freighter to asia. I almost wish he had taken time to talk about terrorism. Having had his father the would be President of the United States assasinated by a Palestinian terrorist he can speak on the subject with some authority. There was one humorous compliment to a Republican that he made. It was Arnold his cousin the Governor of California. Arnold passed one of the toughest automobile pollution laws in the country. (You'll notice I craftily avoided having to spell is last name.) The bottom line is if you make a mess you clean it up. Don't pass it on to the next generation under the guise of creating jobs. Besides why would I worry about jobs we take in a million immigrants a years to take our overflow jobs.  I Swami Johnny see's all, knows all, tells very little. |
