The Week In Review & Early HNW

I came home last Wednesday from 6 days of bliss with my Viking to a shocking situation. The dogs weren’t fed; there was a dead fish in the fish tank and a super smelly house. My heretofore reliable pet sitter apparently decided he didn’t have to stay with the dogs and other than feeding them (which I’m only sure of because of the amount of food gone) left them locked in the house alone. Our dogs are very well trained and they will hold it for over 14 hours before creating an accident in the house but even they have their limits. Since we have 2 Great Danes, a German Shepherd and a Lab you can imagine the huge mess. They were so happy to see me and get outside and none of them wanted to stay in the dining room were the accidents occurred. They all were tucking their tails and creeping through that part of the house with the guiltiest looks you’ve ever seen. Of course I felt terrible and would never yell at them because it isn’t their fault they weren’t let out. My gold angelfish, which was the size of my palm, was a pile of bones on the bottom of my fish tank. There were all kinds of other indicators that he hadn’t stayed at the house much at all. Things like no food being gone other than the junk food. I still had plenty of clean towels as well as shampoo and conditioner. The dishes in the dishwasher were the same ones I loaded. I was livid and tried to text and call him about it but got no response other than confirmation that he had not fed the dogs that night.

I spent that night and the next 2 days cleaning the dining room carpet with our steam vac. On the 3 day I finally gave up and dragged the carpet out onto the front porch. It’s a brand new 10’x12’ rug that the Viking bought at the beginning of December and it’s ruined! I mopped the hardwood floors again and finally got the house back to smelling normal again. I am so mad I could scream. So now I have to find a new pet sitter on top of replacing the rug and cleaning the mess he left. People who don’t do what they agree to and are paid for really piss me off. He’s just lucky we paid him upfront.

It’s been storming since I got back. Today is the 1st day that the sun has come out and we are all happy to see it. Monsoon weather in January is just crazy. It’s been warm but the storms make it feel much cooler. The only problem with it not being cold is that none of the fleas, ticks or other biting insects has been killed by the winter. We have to treat the dogs and spray around the house the full year around.

Besides trying to put my house back into working order I’ve spent most of my time planning for the wedding and party in April. We’re having pictures done in February so I can wear the dress I originally planned to marry the Viking in. It’s a sexy mermaid style formal gown in purple with black lace overlay. I really wanted pictures that where you can’t tell I’m pregnant because by April there will be no way not to know. Unfortunately, there’s no room in the first dress for a baby bump so I’m going to have to buy a dress with some room for the baby to actually get married in. I found a great photographer and lined her up for the dates we need, got the cake and invitations started and reserved the area we’re getting married in. Now I’m just working on renting the tent, tables and lining up food but I’m a bit stuck because I need to have a better grasp of how many people we will have coming before I do that. For a no frills, keeping it low key wedding and party this shit is still tons of work!

I had Lil Bit last weekend and she was none too happy because we were stuck inside because of the storms. We went to the movies and made an appointment to go try on dresses the next weekend I have her. She’s being a pill about what she will or won’t wear in the wedding. I finally got so frustrated with her Sunday that I reminded her of all those episodes of “Say Yes To The Dress” that we watch where the bridesmaids and moms of the bride don’t want to let the bride pick out what she wants for her own wedding. She didn’t like be reminded that she was acting like the people she hates to see on TV. I also reminded her that the world does not revolve around her. She’s getting what she wants for her birthday party but she doesn’t get to control our wedding. She is getting too big for her britches and is going to need some serious reining in.

My appointments to get WIC and Medicaid went well. My iron and blood pressure were both low which is probably the cause of my dizzy spells. The OB will check my sugar levels as well. We had our 1st baby scare Sunday night when I started spotting bright red blood. I was handling it ok until I told the Viking about it and he called to make sure I was really alright. Once he was on the phone telling me it was going to be ok and he was there for me then I started crying and got upset. It turned out to be nothing. We both knew that spotting during the 1st trimester isn’t unusual especially around the time you’d normally get your period but like I told him, as a pregnant woman, seeing blood is never a good thing. I feel fine and have my 1st OB appointment on Thursday. I keep dreaming that we are having twin red headed boys! AGHHHH so I’m anxious to see if there’s only one peanut on the ultrasound on Thursday.

Friday is Lil Bit’s 9th birthday. I’m taking cupcakes to school for her and we may go to a hockey game that night. Then her party is the next day. Hopefully she will have a good turnout. It’s a skate party so the should enjoy it. I am debating on whether or not I’m going to wrap her scooter in the box or try to assemble it and take it down there. I’m sorely tempted to leave it in the box since it will be easier to wrap that way. Plus then I might be able to con one of my male family members into taking it home with them to assemble before I have her the following weekend. I also still have to get her a helmet so not having it assembled is a good reason for her not to be able to ride it. I know I’m an evil mom.

I have HNW pics that the Viking took of me last week while I was with him but I didn’t get a chance to post them last week. So I’m posting this one for you early. These actually came out really well. I can see the love in my eyes for my Viking and have the pregnancy glow without looking like a cow yet…lol…. I’ll post the originals on my profile albums if any of my friends want to see my smiling face in its entirety.

I signed up for and was approved for the free lifetime silver membership for using the new icebreakers feature. You have to be a woman looking for men, or at least your profile has to say you’re open to that. In actuality I’m not looking and my profile says that in the 1st sentence but at some point I will be again and I guess that was good enough for them. In typical Adult Dating zone fashion, after declining six ways from Sunday every way my Viking tried to renew and upgrade my account to gold, 2 days after they approve the free silver they put through the charge for the gold. Even after I called to make sure that wouldn’t happen. I called again when the gold showed up and was assured it would be fixed but I had to call back in 2 days when the link to cancel the transaction would be there. So I emailed and of course got a totally different answer. They offered to prorate the refund at $30 for the 1 day of gold. I’m now back to silver again so we will see what kind of refund we actually get. Geesh, how complicated can we make things.

I hope all is well with my favorite pervy friends. I have high hopes to get back to reading, writing and responding to everyone’s blogs soon but life is pretty busy at the moment so we shall see. Thank you all so much for your well wishes, love and support even when I’m not responding and posting I think of you often. Take care and love each other well!
Kisses,
LeeAnn

Thank you Q, you are so sweet to say so. I'm always happy to see you here and know that you are following along on my life journey.

That is a good idea for my cousin and ex-petsitter. Too bad we can't do it, it would probably teach him a good lesson especially if we paid the person locking him up $15/day for doing it!

As for my life, it is the best it's ever been.

LeeAnn

I have missed you my sexy Spartan friend! I'm glad to be posting again and have more to write just trying to get back in the stride of things. Life does indeed move on no matter what else is happening. There is no stopping or even slowing the march of time! Thank you for always being here on this journey with me.

You look lovely as usual in the picture.

I'm sorry about your poor dogs though. However you found that pet sitter I would find a different way to find the next one. I don't blame you for being mad I would have been too. I want to see the pictures of you and your Viking when you get them. That dress sounds like it would be so you.

Things are going alright with me. work has been stressful. But I'm also finding myself in the unfamiliar situation of having multiple women showing (and admitting) interest in me.

Happy Birthday to Lil Bit.

Thank you HG,
Unfortunately my former petsitter was family. A much younger 1st cousin and he has been watching the animals for over a year without problems like this. Finding a replacement is proving highly difficult.

I will post some of the pics of our upcoming photo shoot when I get them back. The dress is certainly uniquely me.

Glad to hear things are going great for you. Thanks for the Bday wishes for Lil Bit.

LeeAnn

Thanks! The Viking bought it for me while we were out visiting his family. Then I got sick and didn't wear it for him until he took these pics.
