mmm it's so tasty

I woke up today starving !!

Knowing that I had some left over meatloaf waiting on me is probably why.

When I make meatloaf I always make extra so I can have cold meatloaf sammies.
They are one of my favorites things to munch on.

I slice it pretty thick, pile on the ketchup, slap it on some bread and chow it down.

Of course it doesn't taste like my Mom's did, nope.
I have tried for years to replicate her meatloaf and have never been successful.
One time She stood there helping me step by step and it still didn't turn out like hers.

sighs.. what I wouldn't do to have some of her meatloaf..
but I gotta say my meatloaf sandwich may not be hers but , it is mighty tasty..

Do you like meatloaf sandwiches ?
What dish can your Mom/dad make that you just can't duplicate ??

not a fan of meatloaf, but it is good every once in a while

I wish I could make my Mom's homemade noodles, like you once she helped me telling me EXACTLY what she did.. while they were good they were not mom's.. now that she's passed away I wish I had a recipe book of all the yummy things that she made!

OMG YES. I LOVE left over meatloaf... Hmmmm baby.

Yep there's one recipe of my mom's that I don't have and can NOT duplicate for some reason and neither can my sister. We KNOW there's something we're missing we just haven't been able to figure out what the heck it is! -tm

man that stinks you have never had meatloaf ! you are missing out on a down home american favorite. I bet that store bought rabbit is tough and has no flavor, maybe oneday you'll find a man who will hunt them for you and you can have that stew which I would probably love myself. oh meatloaf can be made very healthy but the old fashion kind is fattenibg as heck

I've never had a meatloaf sandwich. My mothers' home made pasties are as good now as they've always been.

OK one of the things I found about mom's cooking is the difference in times. It took me years to perfect my mom's fried tacos. The only thing she left out was the fact she put refried beans in the taco meat to spread the meat out and make more food cheaper.

Meatloaf I found out early she used plain oatmeal in it rather then crackers or breadcrumbs (once again cheaper and crackers were for the home made soup). My meatloaf is now better then mom's but it took alot of really crappy meals to make things better then mom's food.

Alot of the reason I had trouble perfecting meals my mom made was because she left out her cheap add ins that stretched the meals out.

I always make a lot of meatloaf, at least for 2 days!!
And, never eat it directly from the oven, always heating it up... tastes better then
And yes, having sandwiches too.

My mom's meat stew... low temperature and hours in the oven... she adds some liquid there once in a while, nothing special, mainly just meat and onions, some pepper but... I just cannot make it in the same way.
