No nookie for you!

No nookie for you! So I have this line in my profile that says "No Republicans or axe murderers." It's meant to be somewhat lighthearted and to give a hint as to what my own beliefs are, but I am serious in that I just don't do Republicans. In part this is because I just plain get along much better with people who have similar political views to my own, but primarily because I find their party's alignment with the religious right and their social policies abhorrent. Fine, treat the poor and women and<b> queer </font></b>people like crap, but you won't get any nookie from me. I'm sure you have other options, even here in a blue state. So a few days ago I get an email from some guy who writes: You must want someone without a job. Oh thats (sic) right all the libs work for the state or fed. govt. Actually, all the "libs" I know have jobs, myself included, and only a few of them work for the government. Most of my friends work for nonprofits and/or in fashion, entertainment, journalism, law, information technology, or publishing. I do know a few public school teachers, which technically makes them government employees, although definitely not the bureaucratic type he's probably envisioning. But okay, whatever, this guy clearly has an axe to grind and felt so personally insulted by my very existence that he just HAD to write me. The kicker, however, was what he wrote next: Dont (sic) be shy! Evidently, he thought I might somehow still be interested in checking him out even after he insulted my political beliefs. Think he gets a lot of action with that approach? |
