Bacon on my mind...

Bacon on my mind...

I was just sitting here pondering Bacon... Why? Cause my whole house is permeated with Eau de fried smoked strips of pork, that's why.

I fried some up last night for Jam to snack on before dinner. You know he has been out in the bush playing war games and have only had those delectable MREs to munch on. So wanting to make my guy happy I fried some up...

When he got home he was diddling in the garage and had not been inside yet. I grabbed a strip, went out to meet him and stuck it in his mouth... He looked slightly confused and started to ask me what that was. He only got half way when his whole face lit up and he exclaimed: "It's BACON"! He was happy about it alright...

Now this makes me wonder why so many men that I know LOVES Bacon? Is it just the men I'm surrounded by or is it a General thing? Then I also started to wonder if it's only men or if us of the femme gender like it as much too? I mean, I like it just fine, but I'm not as crazy about it like the men in my life... (Casper and Frankie loves bacon too, but then they ARE boy birds). So here's what I'm doing. Dudettes, vote in the Pink poll. Dudes vote in the Blue poll, please... Satisfy my idle curiosity will ya?

Right at this very moment I also had this thought: If the guys win, they have to write an ode to Bacon and then vice versa if the gals win... It could be some very interesting reads, no?

Now go vote!

Oh yeah, part two of my reply... Jamie thinks I'm an excellent wife (except for when I'm tearing him a new one I guess, but that's my JO. Me, I think I just try my best and at times succeed because I love that damned lug so much!

hello swotka, i been away, but i'm back

there's a saturday market stall-holder, an englishman, i'm told who sells proper bacon here in france.......

why is it bacon is eaten by people whose first language is english? the french dont have it, the italians neither, nor do poles - i'm married to one; the exception are the danes, i suppose, because they export vast amounts to britain and theres some left over!!

what i'd give right now for a pile of bacon, steaming out the house!!
There's Bacon in Sweden too... My dad occasionally fried it up with eggs and potatoes for breakfast on the weekends.

    BACON......I Love It

Why I love it I don't know. I did grow up having it for breakfast and having eggs fried in the bacon fat. I don't do that now to avoid the artery clogging fat.but I still like to get a BLT every now and then.
I usually don't fry the eggs in the fat. I use canola margarine and get 'em really light and fluffy, but well cooked cause I can't stand gooey eggs!

As I said...Bacon, the "Meat Pixie Dust" of the Gods...Hell, you could probably even add it to something like even ICE REAM and it would taste ok...just something funky-a-ly delicious about it!
It might be the only way to get me to enjoy ice cream since I'm not a big fan of that frozen concoction!

I don't know if I'm a fan of bacon or not really, haven't had the stuff in years I think
It's more down to the bacon itself (jag inkluderar rimmat fläsk i denna kategorin, om du har ett bättre namn på det engelska så får du gärna nämna det) for me. I mean, I don't like the fatty bits in or around any kind of meat. It's about how it feels when I chew it and I just get naucious from chewing the fat(pun intended allthough it is the truth).
So for me bacon where the fat is easily removed isn't that bad, I mean, it's meat with a flavour... In the army though I remember we once got bacon that was more fat than meat and I could barely get anything to eat out of that

I guess I just am what I am
There's Bacon in Sweden... My dad used to cook it up all the time (with eggs) and that was like YEARS ago!

Anyhow, with Bacon you cook it long enough so it's crispy and then there's no jiggly fat to chew on... You like it if it's crispy then?
