NIGHT AT THE OPERA

I thoroughly enjoy Opera and the Ballet. I never have any idea what they are saying on stage, but that is only a small part of the experience. The preparation and anticipation for ourselves. The tuxedos and fine suits of the gentlemen. The evening gowns and presentation of the ladies. Young women on top of the world with their men, secure in their expectation of all good things to come. Older women with their men, or sadly being alone.

The line of eligible partners waiting just outside the entrance, always men. Some looking to an older woman; who has lost her partner for the night, or for the rest of her life. Others seeking to accompany a young man .......... who is in need of a partner for the evening. There are middle aged men accompanied by women half their age. Body language reveals who is a lover, and who is a .

The intermission and a glass of wine. Returning to relocate your seats. A candlelit dinner or a nice bottle of champaign to share. Conversation until late in the evening ....

Sometimes I have chaffeured three couples; and hosted a champaign 'tailgate' party for the group in my van.

Yes I thoroughly enjoy Opera and the Ballet
