TS/TV/TG wtf..?
TS/TV/TG wtf..? Ok.. I comprehend why, when it comes to support groups/politics/societal change, GLBT group FtM and MtF transexuals into one group. When it comes to looking for someone you might find sexually attractive I would think that it makes a lot less sense to lump them all into one grouping. According to Wikipedia.. "While people self-identify as transgender, transgender identity includes many overlapping categories. These include cross-dresser (CD); transvestite (TV); androgynes; genderqueer; people who live cross-gender; drag kings; and drag queens; and, frequently, transsexual (TS).[26] Usually not included are transvestic fetishists (because it is considered to be a paraphilia rather than gender identification). " One may as well just have Male, Female and Other for all the help that offers up. I appreciate those who at least clarify in their profile which group they self identify, but that doesn't really help when it comes to putting together a search. Part of what an Adult Dating zone profie is good for is that it is searchable data and the free text in profiles isn't really part of that data. Then there also seems to be the fact that all the various terms seem to be very emotionally charged for people. I occasionally wonder how many people end up not actually creating profiles because they get to that question and there isn't actually an answer that they find acceptable. |

I think that TS should not be lumped in with gay/bi/lesbians. Most TS I have known prefer men, and live their lives as women... not by choice, but because TS women are women in every way, except being born originally as a man. Perhaps the innate sensitivities of the gay/lesbian crowd are simply more accepting of TS women, and are willing to fight for their rights too.
