Everything Came Out Fine

Well, the prep was rough! I thought that my intestines would be on the outside before the actual procedure would be done.

But the colonoscopy was not too bad. They had a rough time starting the IV....but that's nothing new for me. I had to remind them about a hundred times that I was allergic to latex. And even then the second nurse that tried to get an IV going put a latex tourniquet around my arm....and made me get hives.

They did find one polyp and removed it. So, now we wait for the biopsy. I feel like it will be fine though. I don't feel any sense of dread. Anybody else get those feelings?

The medication they gave me has kept me asleep almost the rest of the day and night. And even though it's 9am now, I feel like I could go back to sleep again.

Thanks you guys! For cheering me up and keeping me in your thoughts and prayers! I was thinking about butterflies as I fell asleep yesterday!

I'll write more when I can wake up fully!

"You deserve a break today" "Have it your way" "Now, this wont hurt....Did it?" All come to mind as well as the vision of that LOVLY posterior, all aglow and sticking up proud for the world to see. Ummmm, Ummmmm, Ummmm. I can in all honesty say that deserves to be pampered, petted, caressed, kissed and given some extra special TLC. Oh btw, dear, next time you see the dr, tell the attending nurse that the fly that she almost hit with that tray was only me flying by with my video cam and if I had been watching my viewfinder closer she could have caused some major damage to my own dignity.

I have had a colonoscop done a few years ago. i felt more uncomfortable and embarrased than pain. You should treat yourself to a nice relaxing pamper night tonight with a nice warm bath and after it, treat yourself to some nice hot chocolate. Go on, you deserve it

Bye everyone, it was a blast

The colonscopy gave me a wierd sensation, not unpleasant. The sedative was great. Mild. But I recited long poems to the staff that I supposedly forgot years ago.

I'm glad everything has come out okay so far, and hope the biopsy comes back okay.

I wasn't looking forward to this "procedure" before, now I'm even less thrilled with the prospect. However, it's one of those things that while somewhat unpleasant can help avert far greater unpleastantries later.

I am so glad to hear that you made it through the procedure without any major problems. I recall quite well your concerns as you were preparing for your surgery this past summer.

Seems like they should have put a big bright tag on you to make the medical staff very aware of your latex allergy. It nearly criminal for the medical profession to do harm. Hey, maybe you can see a lawyer about a civil suit for wrongful medical treatment.
