the First NoEl

the Christmas ads
on commercial TV
have begun

Kaye Jewelers...( National?...anybody??? )

...(scene )..............................

a materially comfortable couple
...lounging in their
festively decorated living room
warm,
collared cotton
and sweaters,
basking in front of

...the television...

"It's A Wonderful Life"
gloriously contrasted
...in black
and white...

He...
lying lenghtwise
'cross the couch...
She...
coiled... catlike
on the carpet,
below his cushioned head.

She
and He
melting into the promise
of 'Buffalo Gal'

She swoons
He swoops his
arm into the
laden tree bottom
and extracts
the only
unwrapped package...
a band of jewel and gold.

In all the times
I've watched that flic
it never quite dawned on me....

that
He
provides She,
and as such
reigns
supreme
on Football couch
confidently plying...

and she
holds her ground
demure...
she'll crouch
...a vampire
for coal under pressure.

("...uhhh, I'm only in this for the sex, and the jewelry..." A line
from some tawdry new entry into cultural persuasion on MyTV. )

man...those fruitcakes might be the only evidence of the old
Holiday spirit
that survives...

so...
this is really early
but
"WE" are the pressure...
and "you" are the lump of coal...
if you stay...
you will sparkle...

outlive the pressure!!!!!!!!!!

I actually saw this commercial the other night...the guy on the couch couldn't get his gal the moon either (the scene playing from It's a Wonderful Life) but he could get her a piece of jewelry to show her his love...great marketing scheme...full of sentimentality...and romance...with a kiss at the end...great post...you have such a way with words...and that wicked sense of humor of yours...delicious

kind thoughts,
Moonfire
