On the Presentation of Womanhood... I have enjoyed this site for a number of months now. I have also enjoyed the photo collections of so many diverse human beings, dressed (or undressed) in amazing costumes. There is such a place for make believe in this oh so serious world, and you see a lot of that on Adult Dating zone. This morning, being a full time writer (or what I claim is full time writing), I had the television on as I got the papers, made the coffee, fed my pint-sized predator of a cat Harvey and then plopped down to read. Regis and Kelly were on doing their morning show. Regis wearing some outlandlishly colored trousers and making believe he was comfortable while Rippa was draped with some nightclub dress, hanging over her emaciated and bony body. The show had on the make-over guy. He would first show a clip of a 'normal' woman in her environment, and then bring her out on stage for the made over presentation. He listed what had been done to the woman as she walked out, for the make-over. Hairdo in the thousands, Botox, other facial injections, caps and teeth whitening and then spike heels and a Rippa style dress. The women all looked, after makeover, like they were about to transmit photos for sex over Adult Dating zone or maybe make some extra cash on the side for a bit of cash. What the hell are we allowing to be done with the presentation of women out here? Kelly and Regis? Talk about phony caricatures of real life. Each one walled up in their own chateau making millions upon millions, then foisting this plastic-faced Hollywood style womanhood upon us. What is that? The women 'made-over' looked pretty damned good in the 'before' clips. Warm, normal, attractive and filled with a reality pathos. After the treatments they stood there, one and all, and looked at the audience like they wanted to apologize for what they had gotten involved with. This is just wrong. It is wrong to portray this kind of womanhood as the preferred form of presentation. It is quite fine for those made up moments. Hell, I just love high heels and short skirts and great hose. But we all know that that kind of thing is for moments of special bliss and for entertainment. And you see some of the results of this kind of presentation on Adult Dating zone. No fat chicks, kind of stuff. Forget a 'little extra padding' or even 'average,' as most guys out here are looking for the Rippa look. What is wrong with this? Well, for one thing it is unhealthy as all get out! We have no clue at all as to the long term effects of all these epidermal injections. Not a clue. Is your face going to fall later on? Is it going to sag? What about keeping it all going with ever more injections? Not to mention the outrageous cost. And it is all do to unrealistic expectations by both sexes. We need to do what we can to stop this nonsense from pervading mainstream media. And we need to expect more reality when we meet one another. |
