Game On!

Well, apparently sleeping in on Saturday means I'm getting up at 4:30am instead of sixish...who knew?

The mutt is on the mend. According to the X-rays she had eaten something small, and likely furry or feathered, and it wasn't digesting correctly. So the three pounds of grass she had eaten to amend her rather egregious error was also still there.
Until she threw it up in the backseat of Mr's truck on her way home from the first vet visit, She went back the next day, a second set of X-rays confirmed that her stomach was now cleared. So nearly $500 bucks and two prescriptions later, the goofy bitch is feeling more like her old self.
You got to know I love this dog.

But! The trip is back on! Provided there is a hotel that meets my need.
I smoke, plain and simple. And while I'm trying to quit, that hasn't happened yet. Finding a hotel that has smoking rooms is proving to be a lot more daunting than one would think. I've found motels that permit marijuana smoking and vaping. But not cigarettes. Which seems greatly hypocritical to me, but whatever.
I wake up in the middle of the night, frequently. And the thing that usually puts me back to sleep is to light a cigarette and take two or three drags. The last thing I really want to have to do while I am on vacation is to have to get dressed and go stand outside to smoke at 3am so I can get back to sleep. Besides, if I have to put that much effort into going to smoke those three or four drags, well...Im not going back to sleep. If I'm walking around sleep deprived (because one way or another I'm waking up for the day between two and three am), this is not going to be a vacation, it's going to be me being grouchy for four days.
It slays me that while people are understanding of other types of addictions, heroin, meth, cocaine....and go to great lengths to help break that addiction, smoking cigarettes is treated with the same contempt one usually would reserve for people who habitually fart at the dinner table, even though cigarette addiction has proven to be more powerful than any of the aforementioned drugs. The list of potential side effects for most of the miracle drugs that break nicotine addiction are things I'm not comfortable rolling the dice on, particularly since I'm bipolar. Smoking or suicide? Smoking will definitely take longer to kill me than a long walk off a short cliff.

Well, I'm off to scour the web for that elusive unicorn of a motel in or around the Denver area that has a smoking room for any smokers, not just the ones taking a 'weedcation'.
Love and Peace✌🏼️

My table-farting manners are appalling, I've been treated with utter disdain so many times. But hey, it still cracks me up, so fuck it!

Smoking, or rather not smoking, is a difficult thing to do once you're addicted. It took me years to finally kick the habit, but I havenae smoked for a long long time now.

Here, hae a wee keek up ma kilt, that's get ye gigglin!!

Lindy, a peek up yer kilt might make me smile, but I refrain from giggling at anyone's... ear of corn...especially if I intend to carry it in my bushel basket....
I'm trying to quit, but oh sweet lord...I've never had such a difficult time with anything in my life. Childbirth might be preferable.

i smoke too. it's a bitch to find hotel rooms although kayak has a filter for it, no pun intended.

if i'm travelling with a non, it really sucks unless there's a balcony.

i'm not quitting at 67. so............

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

I'm trying, but I've been smoking since I was 12. My blood pressure is really kind of frightening though, so I really really need to quit.
We finally found a room and reserved it with the option to cancel, the thing is going to cost us a ransom if we end up taking it. Mrs is going to call on a cabin in a state park between Denver and Colorado Springs for the weekend. It is perfection with a full kitchen, two bedrooms and a private bathroom as well as a covered deck and 50+ miles of hiking trails. I've got all my fingers and toes crossed that we can get that instead.

Glad the old girl is on the mend...Fur Kids are our kids...I dunno...To me smoking is smoking...Doesn't matter what the substance is...I smoke a occasional pipe or cigar...Quit the ciggies after the last myocardial infarction...Seemed a good idea at the time...Just had a pulmonary test last week...1st time I've ever had one...Everything seems to be functioning...Not as well as it should...Then again considering the abuse I've done over the years...It's better than I should expect...The practitioner was amazed that I rode my bicycle to the appointment...It's about a mile and a half to the HP and I take my dear sweet time and found a fairly level path to and from...She was impressed...Damn she was cute...Gad...I've become a dirty old man...Best of luck on the quest and capture lots of moments!

We finally found a place and have it booked, but Mrs is going to call Monday about some cabins I found in Mueller State Park. A cabin in the woods with a covered porch and wild life viewing opportunities is my idea of a dream vacation. And there are fifty miles hiking trails!

I took my dog to the vet's for his annual booster just the other day and just that injection alone was £41. I bought extra worming sachets (where you mix it in with the food) and that was another £25.
The vet said my dog's teeth could be better but at least she didn't push me to get them done right away...that's pricey!
I hope you've found a suitable hotel

It's crazy how much vet care costs in a city. I used to drive my girls nearly 100 miles from here to see a country vet, it cost less in gas to travel that far and pay for their vetting there than any quality vet in this town charges.
We have a line on several now and she is checking them out now!

I once got some rather fun shots when my partner got up at 3 AM and tossed on a flimsy robe to go smoke in the parking lot.

Ten years ago I would roll out there in my giant teeshirt and flip flops to smoke and fuck whomever was offended. My body is under reconstruction now, so it would require putting on clothes lol.

It's getting harder to locate such a room. I carry an E-cig that helps some, just sometime it isn't enough. I have found them with a balcony that makes it easier, don't have to get dressed. I've quit hundreds of times.

I have tried vaping and if I use those things even for one or two drags I end up with bronchitis every single time. I honestly wish I could use one, it would help me quit.
