Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th Well it is Friday the 13th. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. Just depends on the way you look at it I guess.  For instance...K and I were talking yesterday and he pointed out the our first date was on a Friday the 13th. That was a good thing! Maybe this one will be as well. Yesterday was not all that great for me. The reality of being a single mom kicked in. Especially a single mom with an ex-hub that really doesn't do his fair share in sharing the financial part of the parenting. Oh, he sends his support (because the state takes it automatically from his check). But he doesn't pay his 51% of the other parts of the medical. Of course I don't push the issue either. According to the divorce decree we split medical 48.70% me & 51.3% him. I just pay it because I don't feel like listening to him gripe. Yesterday was one of those days. Over vacation with her dad & grandparents, mini me told her dad to set her up an eye appt. (she has decided that he needs to step up a bit). Well her grandmother told her she should go with contacts. Ok...we'll see. So her dad calls her Tues. and lets her know he set her up with an appt and it was all ready for her to just show. Eye dr was young and cute...she liked that! Until he told us the cost...when he left the room she had tears in her eyes...and told me she didn't want me to spend that kinda money. (She knew it would be me and not her dad) Well they set her up with 5 pairs to try out....and then we went to leave. He set it up...and left me to pay. Shoulda figured. And to top it off...she goes back in a week. So another big co pay....and the cost of contacts.... So at the moment it sucks being a single mom...with a very tight income. Oh...back to Friday the 13th. I go for another medical thing today. So lets hope it is one of the good ones...and I don't drive home crying again.....And the one good thing is K comes home from GA today.  |

Silly Mini Me needs to remember that her non biological sister works at an optometrists office. It's not a guarantee but she may be able to score some sample contacts and free trials when she gets Mini's prescription. How do you think Littlest gets her eyeballs?
