Pet peeves.....  Good morning all. I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday and Saturday night. My beloved 'Mona' and I went to a wonderful wedding of a very good friend (who's pics you've seen here on my blog BTW) yesterday and had a fantastic time. I love weddings! Anywhoo, this blog is about my pet peeves. I don't have a lot of them but the ones I DO have.... well they call them 'pet peeves' for a reason now don't they? In no particular order: Close minded, judgemental people Oh lord don't get me started on this. I'm SURE you all know the type. Holier than thou people who look down at others for being different or doing something THEY don't approve of. Look, I can understand someone who doesn't 'embrace' bisexuality like I do BUT when they look down at me for my choice, when they want to 'sermonize' to me about the evils of<b> homosexuality </font></b>and/or bisexuality, then I have a major problem. People with their faces buried in their smartphones You know the type. I see them ALL the time at my local Starb$$ks. They're typically walking across the busy parking lot, faces buried in their smartphone, totally oblivious to all around them, including traffic. Or their in line, completely lost in their smartphone to the point where their holding up the line. Grrrr makes me want to grab the phone and flush it down the nearest toilet! Dirty dishes OK, to be honest this peeve was instilled in my by my wife who was positively anal about cleanliness but to this day, I HATE a sink full of dirty dishes. For me, it's just SO damn easy to clean the dishes as you put them in the sink and then put them in the dish washer as it is to just leave em... Yes, my beloved 'Mona' is one of 'those' people but I'm working on her  Rude/obnoxious people Again, don't get me started! I've just never understood rude people. I guess that rudeness comes from some deep deficiency in their own personality that requires them to be rude and/or try to feel 'superior' to others. Clueless/stupid drivers I can put up with most idiot drivers BUT every once and a while I run across a complete idiot who has no business being behind the wheel of a 2 ton vehicle speeding down the road at 50-60mph. Again, you know the type. Ignorance Ignorance bugs me no end. Now I TRY to be understanding, knowing full well that a LOT of folks on this planet haven't had the benefit of a good education, but their comes a point where that excuse becomes lame and you're dealing with someone who suffers from willful ignorance. Read a book, read a newspaper. Grrrrr. TV news A LOOONG time ago, my wife gave me a foam brick. I keep it right here next to me as I watch TV, especially the news so when I hear something totally ignorant, stupid or just plain wrong, instead of fuming and blustering and throwing my keyboard at the TV, I pick it up and throw it instead! It's saved me a LOT of $$$ over the years (She was a very smart woman)Lame sex Oh man! There's NOTHING worse. One of my least favorite are guys who think that woman 'owe' them something. Again, you know the type. I can go on but that's a good start eh? -tmp.s. The pic above is in fact the lovely bride from yesterday... Now that she's married, I won't get to see her here anymore and from that perspective, I'm a bit sad BUT I am happy for HER. She's married a wonderful guy and I hope the two of them are happy together forever! |
