How many members use chat as a way to connect?

It seems like a logical way to connect if you just have a standard membership and can't flirt or don't have the points to send an email.

It surprises me. If, say, you can send a flirt and are interested in a standard member you know is online, why not go onto IMC where they can reach you directly.

Are too many members just afraid of being harrassed? Is this a problem for couples?

 Most of the time the people who do chat know each others it is for that people create blog that let you the possibility to contact
Most of the time it is too quick to follow depending on the speed of your computer

 Chatting can be a great way to exchange general ideas, to see if you are looking for something similar. The IM here can freeze up..

 The IM feature on Adult Dating zone is pretty much useless. But I mostly chat as I am not up to meeting at this time via regular messaging.
