The use of leather.
We have all probably seen the motorcyclist riding his or her bike wearing anything form leather boots, to jackets, chaps, or vests. I own a lot of leather, and wear it quite a bit, usually as protection from the wind, rain, cold, or for other protection related reasons.
Leather is also used quite a bit for fashion. Even if for protection, the wearer usually wants something that looks cool. Which brings me to a question.

Is there something being protected here, or is this strictly fashion?
