Hangovers and Leftovers

After the "hard night" the other night, I somehow doubt I'll be looking at liquor again for the foreseeable future. Yesterday was a lazy day ...I made up a little bit for the lack of task-a-day productiveness today and filled up two boxes for and one for file 13. The "file 13" box is mostly all the Christmas cards and "inspirational notes" that were ...well ...all over the place. I cleared three bulletin boards that had notes and cards from as far back as 2011.

Mom wasn't good at throwing things out ...neither am I (although I'm not even in the same league as she was). It's sad business ...having to be realistic about what had value to HER, and not so much that it has no value for me, but that it simply doesn't have a place in MY life as I start moving on with my own again. My next really heartbreaking one is going to be taking all the pictures down, and I'm still not quite sure I'm up for that one yet. The house seems big and empty as it is, but removing the "personalization" will make it seem that much emptier.

Sucks to be me in this regard, but I'm so glad I had AuntiE here for so long to deal with the worst of it. Even AuntiE was extremely disappointed that my sister completely bailed on ANY of it, but in some ways I guess it's easier on ME not to have her here.

Last night was interesting ...I actually made a proper dinner for the first time since AuntiE left (by "proper dinner" I mean more than just a sandwich or fast food ...I heated up some BBQ sausage, made mac and cheese and heated rolls). I've been eating okay ...not necessarily HEALTHY, but hardly starving myself. ...and then I finished watching the first season of "The Leftovers." Until I wrote it, I didn't really catch the irony of it (if you haven't heard of the show, it has nothing to do with food at AL.

My review of "The Leftovers" ...meh. It's interesting enough in premise, but it's the same writer that did "Lost" ...and Lindelof has a BAD habit of making stuff complicated for no other reason than to be complicated. Liv Tyler is gorgeous and Christopher Eccleston manages to pull off an American accent quite well ...the rest were okay, but if you weren't a fan of "Lost" or "Prometheus" then I'd say not to waste your time with it.

So anyway ...just thought I'd throw up a quick post "just cuz."
