Throwing out old toys  The toy in the picture is one I threw out about a year ago. Today I threw out my original butt plug. I probably got the butt plug in 2001 or 2002, so it was old. It was a blue<b> jelly </font></b>plug (I think that is what it was called anyway). I was still experimenting a lot with my ass at the time and not sure what all I liked. I knew I wanted to try a plug and decided to buy one. I went to one of the local sex shops at the time, and it was the more skeevy place in town. It was also cheaper than the other place I had been to. I looked at the plugs available. They started at the think half inch, and worked up to the 2 inch. After some thought I decided on the two inch (remember that I was experimenting and did not know what I was doing). My logic, questionable as it was" was that one: it was cone shaped and would slide in, and two: I wanted to work up to that anyway so why not start there. The lady who ran the store looked at it when I brought it up to the counter, looked me over for a minute, and asked if I bought the right one. I told her it was a gag gift for a friend, which was my go to line whenever I bought a toy in a sex shop. I am sure many other people have used this lie as well. So I get the toy home and open it up. I had fingered my ass, and had a toy called the Anal Newcummer, that at its widest was 1 inch. I had not used it much but with time I could get it all in. Now I had 2 inches to conquer. The first three times I tried it I didn't get close. It hurt and I just was not getting there. I started reading some articles online and tried stretching first with fingers and mostly just played around. After a few weeks, I finally got the whole thing in my ass. It still didn't feel great, but I did it. The plug sat in a box for a while until I moved into my current home. One night I decided to try it out again and just did not get far. I had a 7 inch dildo that was 1.5 inches wide and struggled with that too. I was beginning to think that smaller was better for me. That and I only got to play with them about once every other month. I only used them when I had the house a lone, which was not often. I also had not figured out a good way to clean them and leave them out to dry without people finding them. I did eventually find toys I liked. I am totally into glass toys as they clean easy and dry quickly. But I did not have any new plugs. I look at them online a lot and debate a new one. I decided today to pull out the old one and see how I could do with some experience. The poor thing had been in a box for probably a decade. I knew I would have to clean it, but I was not ready for it to be oily and sticky from heat/thaw in a closet for many years. I tried cleaning it but decided that it was past its time and threw it away. I have since washed my hands four times and they finally don't feel sticky anymore. I have other toys in that box that I think are all just going to go once I inspect them more later. So I am at the point where I need to look into a new one. I will look at the available options online and see what I decide on. If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear what works for other people. |

That's so sad! I had a similar experience, though I think a bit more tragic only for the price I paid and didn't get to experience the toy much in later years also. As for what to get next, I'd suggest you take your time and choose something you absolutely have no doubt of being able to use. I know from a bit of personal experience the experimentation of a toy that is slightly too big for the whole it's intended to penetrate. I have one "soft" feel dildo that is perfect for pussy penetration, but a bit too wide for any really comfortable anal play unless you're really use to the girth with regular practice. Since that doesn't happen much around here, it doesn't get used much unfortunately. In my younger days when I too experimented a lot with anal play, I had a double ended dildo that was about 20" long, with one end that was not as wide as the other. In my pre-marriage days of playing with myself a lot, I was able to work quite a bit of the narrow end into myself, and later began using the wider tip comfortably, but those days are long past, and it would take a while for me to work up to that level again.
