Still here

Today is my birthday. Not much more to be said about it.

Yesterday I took my cat of the past 14 years to the vet. She had total Kidney failure and I had no good options for her. She isn't suffering or in pain anymore, I keep reminding myself of that.

I took a few days off of work for my birthday. The plan as to relax around the house and get some things done, stay up late and watch horror movies. My wife decided to take the days off as well and started off that we were going to go to the museum in Chicago because she was sick on our anniversary. So my birthday quickly became what she wanted to do. Then my cat got sick and plans changed. On Sunday night she was offered overtime for today, which she took. So today she sat around the house complaining about needing to go in for overtime, took a nap so that I had to tip toe through the house. Now she is at work. I am writing a blog.

I fully understand that happiness is where you find it, and that a positive outlook can change a lot, but I am just not there right now. I still have tomorrow off, but my wife is going to be home during the day which means I will run her around on whatever errand she has, and then I will sit around doing nothing while she is at work. Not really how I wanted to spend the week of my birthday.

 I feel for you with the cat. we had the most awesome cat, a large one, mankoon. I live literally in the middle of the chequamegon national forest. cat loved to go out hunting at night. one night he didn't come home. I was devastated. I went looking for him but to no avail.
have a good birthday. mine is on mothers day this year.

That sucks that your cat never made it home. My condolences.
