Big houses?

I am past the desire to move into a bigger house, but I know some who still yearn for the 5,000 square foot 6 bedroom major mansions.

All that space needs to be furnished, heated or cooled, cleaned and maintained. Plus the property taxes are substantial. The gardener expense and the utility bills are also mansion sized.

Who needs so much space? If I had ten and ten servants like a Victorian family I could see the need.

I don't prefer a condo or apartment sized space, but a normal sized three or four bedroom house is enough space and expense...

Thoreau said you don't own your possessions, they own you... He was right I think.

 Red I think you have it right there. I finally down size my home from that big one you were talking about. So much better and love it. I put in a big hot tub which I enjoy in the summer and winter. hugs V
