Brexit?

Brexit? The Brits continue to harm their future and their faith in government. Like us, but worse. Brexit is the British equivalent of the election of Trump as US president. A slim majority bought a pig in a poke, based on clear lies and Russian influence. Now the deal on Brexit shows it is much worse than remaining. If Britain wants access to the European market for goods and services it must allow access to immigrants. Thus stuck with rules and policy regs with no say on them. Much worse than the present situation. The % decrease in GDP for the UK from Brexit means stay is much better than go. Trump is a temporary disaster that may be gone in 2020. Brexit could last for decades and undoing it cost much more in the future. The worst part is pride stops Britain from doing the sensible thing and staying. So idiocy may prevail. |

Now May wants a fourth vote after losing three times! They should just have her resign and hold new elections. She is done.

A million plus marched against Brexit and in favour of a "People's vote" last Saturday. 6 million have signed a petition asking for A50 to be revoked - the game is still in play and sanity may yet prevail.

honestly it sometimes feels the world has gone mad. People seem intent on doing things that will hurt them in the long run. Be it the environment, government, religion .....

Voting against your economic interest is insane. Europe has avoided major wars since 1945 by being economically interdependent.

The worst possible outcome is to crash out without a deal. That seems to be the way things are devolving.

Parliament seems incapable of a majority to agree to any plan.
| ||
|
Many businesses have already left the UK or plan to. The damage is done.
| ||
|
To think the UK used to be a leader in ideas for democracy and government....
| ||
|
Now they have until Oct. 31, 2019 to make a deal, but still no majority for any deal.
