Emo-ness

hi Mr Emo and Ms Self Pity, I havent seen you in a long while and I have missed you.

Been quite down recently....

Next wed is my last exam and that would mark the end of my school and university life. i am dreading graduation.

i have applied to 50 over jobs since January. but none have replied so far. this is getting to a worrying point. what is wrong with me? i was damn active in school because i love being involved in school and not for resume purposes. but even so, my resume has got to be the nicer looking ones among fresh graduates. the jobs i applied for does not even require a degree sometimes. and I am asking for a really low starting pay($2500) as compared to my batch mates ($3000-5000). so why no reply?

the type of jobs i have applied for are event management jobs, hotel management trainee programme jobs, teaching positions, jobs at production firms etc. is $2,500 too high?

the cop out decision for me would be to enter NIE and join the teaching profession. yes it is in my blood as my mum and all my aunts have been teachers for 30+ years, its starting pay is decent and its a stable job.

my gpa and the fact that i cannot get a job all point to the fact that i am rather worthless and my parents have wasted $40,000 for 4 years of my university education. given the previous schools i have been from, getting into university and better still the kind of degree I got into was thought to be impossible. but being in that degree (as i was forced by my mum to take it up), it was evident that i lacked the aptitude, intelligence or passion for studying it. the decision to follow what my mum wanted would always be a big regret of mine.

now after graduation, i will be the typical Singaporean with a low paying job trying to make ends meet in a country with a high cost of living while my friends and university mates are all earning at least $5000 a month.

sometimes i really hate the singapore education system, it has never failed to tell me that i am a failure in Singapore.

Don't be the crowd but be yourself. Believe in yourself. In interviews, do a good research on the company first.

For most people, the general Uni Wage in Singapore is not as what you have claimed. With that type of wage, it comes with other requirements.
