Tongue studs sexy? Try this!
Back in Singapore, today is the annual Thaipussam celebrations. It is a spiritual celebration. A person is fulfilling his promise to carry a Kavadi in exchange for spiritual help or atonement of sins. Much like the Christian prayers where one promises to do something in exchange for passing the all important exams. Only difference is in the "Christian" practice, many of those who prayed those prayers don't honor the promise.

Here, in Asia, you better honor those promises. It's like a contract bound in blood and filled with pain. To overcome those excruciating pains, the devotees go into a trance and let the spirits take over them, possess them and they become a different person full of wild vigor able to withstand incredible amounts of pain.

They take Tongue Studs to the extreme end.

This is what we call being in high spirits. Literally.
Not being filled with the spirit with alcohol.
