Checkmates Checkmates was our first swing club experience together so this review is about 2 years overdue. It started out as all our typical meets/swing club experiences do which means she had cold feet and we considered canceling. Fortunately after some back and forth her curiosity got the best of her, we put on our sexiest clothes and headed up to Midtown East (it's 227 East 56th St...I never know if that's the upper end of midtown or the lower portion of the Upper East Side?). Also typical to all our swing club experiences we got there right as it opened which is way too early. In our experience these places usually open around 10ish but don't get going until around midnight so we tend to get there and sit around nervously for a couple hours staring at the door wishing we'd come a bit later. The setup is pretty typical of the clubs we've been to, after you pay your entrance fee (I think it was around $120 or so) you walk into the main room...DJ, dance floor, some couches around the dance floor and a BYOB bar. It's the basement level of the building so the ceiling is a bit low...couple that with the<b> balloons </font></b>they usually have on the dance floor ceiling and if you're tall you'll spend a lot of time ducking. There's a locker room off to the side, they provide you with a lock if you decide to use it. There are playrooms off the main room but you need to undress in order to enter them. So far this is the only club we've been to with that requirement, not everyone likes it but we prefer it, I think it encourages play a bit more than clubs that allow dressed people into the play areas. Ultimately I guess it's all about your personal taste. I had actually been to Checkmates a few times in the past with ex's...I have always had a good time and the crowd has always been a lot of fun. They aren't overly discriminating so you'll find all ages, body types, etc there. If you only want to be surrounded by super models this probably isn't the place for you, but everyone has always been very respectful and no always means no so there's never any pressure to play unless you want to. As this was our first time there together and at this point she still didn't have any actual swing experience I wasn't expecting much beyond some meeting and greeting and hopefully some watching/being watched in the rooms. For the first hour or two we mingled with the few people that trickled in, as the crowd grew we met some really cool, interesting people. The thing that always wows me with swing clubs and swinging in general is how normal and even successful the people you meet are. I can't tell you the number of doctors, lawyers, etc I've met through this. It was no different this night...we ended up spending a lot of our time getting to know a really sexy, very cool couple....eventually friends of theirs came in (also a sexy, cool couple) and they all headed off for the play rooms. We were invited to join but A wasn't quite ready yet. After a bit more chatting and another drink we decided to give it a go...we undressed (they provide you with towels & robes but they aren't exactly the world's sexiest pieces of attire so most women wear lingerie which is allowed), put our clothes in a locker and entered the play area. It consists of 3 or 4 (it's been awhile, my memory is more of the sex than the layout) rooms off a hallway...it makes for great viewing and you can tell the rooms that have the hot & heavy action going on because they generally draw a crowd. We watched a bit even stumbling upon our sexy friends having fun. While we were watching I noticed a man behind A checking her out. He gave me a "do you mind" look to which i responded with a nod and he began caressing her...she told me someone was touching her, I asked her if she was ok and she said yes so we enjoyed it while we watched. Then she told me he was fingering her which brought me to full attention and was her introduction to sexual play in a club. He didn't get her off but he definitely set the mood because after that she was ready to jump in. We decided to join our friends on the beds in the room. We started with the couple we had been chatting with, A with him, me with his wife...he brought A to orgasm with his tongue and fingers which was probably the sexiest thing I'd ever seen at that point in my life...unfortunately I wasn't so lucky...his wife passed out on me. I like to think it had more to do with too much alcohol as opposed to my lack of skill in the bedroom...she eventually ended up getting sick in the bathroom which kind of confirmed my suspicion that it was the alcohol. We ended up playing with their friends which was incredibly hot. It was more soft swing with the ladies enjoying each other a bit as well. Before we left we went into one of the quieter rooms and enjoyed each other a bit more. While in there a man entered and watched. While he was watching I motioned for him to join us...we both began playing with A and by the end of that session she'd been DP'd for the first time. All in all it was an amazing first swing experience for her and confirmed my opinion that Checkmates is a ton of fun. It may not be for everyone, I'm sure there are better places with sexier crowds but I've always had a great time and it was the perfect introduction to swinging for her. We've definitely enjoyed these past 2 years so it obviously didn't turn her off to it.  |
