Friends with benefits is a great concept but in reality not so much. If you are a caring person, how do you have regular, ongoing sex and /or friendship without feelings getting involved? If you stay aloof enough not to get involved you have to censor your activities, words and actions. It is human nature to care about each other. Everyone needs human contact and affection and also needs to give it. Unless you are looking for notches on your belt then fwb is not always possible.

 Which is why I NEVER define mine as FWB. They are each my lovers, and there are feelings between us. Just because we are not in committed relationships does not mean we care any less. And to our credit, when the sex has stopped, the friendship has remained.

Otherwise why bother?
