Me E N J O Y my Food!!
Me E N J O Y my Food!! Satay , or sate, is a dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce. Satay may consist of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef and other various kinds of meat. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings. Satay is available almost anywhere in Indonesia, also popular in many other Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as in Suriname and the Netherlands. In Malaysia, satay is a popular dish—especially during celebrations—and can be found throughout all the states of Malaysia in restaurants and on the street, with hawkers selling satay in food courts and’ Pasar malam’(night market ). Sate is also available at non-halal Chinese eating establishments. While the popular kinds of satay are usually beef and chicken satays, different regions of Malaysia have developed their own unique variations. There are a number of well-known satay outlets in Kajang, Selangor which is dubbed the Sate City in the country. Given its popularity, sate Kajang is now found throughout Malaysia. Sometimes my family would drive all the way to Kajang town just to eat satay you know haha! I have been reading your blog since I stumbled upon it weeks ago and I do enjoy reading the stuff that you have written. Some of it do bring laughter during a "gloomy Monday start of the week" day . I was reading this topic about satay and you rekindled some good old memories of my food adventures in Kajang during when it was the town where one should go to if they have cravings for SATAY's. But unfortunately, it no longer is the Satay town anymore .. It does not taste the same as before and it kind of got too commercialized these days....still missed the old satay...
