A Small Taste of Disaster!!!

What a small taste of disaster!
For the last week, Corpus Christi has had a city wide water boil because of low levels of chlorine. THEN.....Sunday the rain storm started.
After the first hour, the electric goes off....stays off for 4 hours. Noon to 4pm. I think it is over..heck no. The new Game of Thrones episode I waited all week for starts and 10 minutes later...the electric goes off.
What a day! I call the AEP hot line. We have repair crews working on it.
Ok...shouldn't be long. WRONG......from 8:10pm Sunday to 5:30pm Monday....NO ELECTRIC!!!! No AC. No moving electronic images to keep my wondering mind focused on buying the latest car, phone, tv, or getting a lawsuit lawyer.
Depression sets in.......dark, gloomy rain falls to reenforce the helplessness.
Can't go anywhere, it's an area wide outage. Even WalMart is blacked out.
As are the corner convenience stores.

Finally the electric comes back on the AC runs, the TV images and internet are accessible once again.....life returns to normal. We got over 11" in less than 24 hours.

What a small taste of what will happen if a hurricane hits town. Jeez!!!

 Been there, Done that ! Many times and it does SUCK ! We take everyday life for granite with our modern technology. Only when we lose it do we remember how friggin easy we really have it !
