Meeting women

I have found it very hard to meet women on here. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I try to chat with them here first and they won't even chat. Very few do. I ask to meet them in a public place for safety reasons and they won't. The few I have met are very sweet and we get along great. I would like to know if anyone else is having a hard time meeting someone on here or is it just me.
