Songs of Sin: Part I

Last week saw the passing of Percy Sledge, whose rendition of When a Man Loves a Woman has become THE song to play in your head when you're about to declare your undying love to someone. I'm sure we all have our top 10 romantic songs, some are entwined with a past moment when someone first danced with another to that ditty, others are there because it's absence would be conspicuous, (think One, Unchained Melody.) As awesome as true love is, this is a list of tunes that I acquaint with sexual intimacy. To make this a bit more interesting though, I'm going to give you snippets of fantasies that hearing the song give me...

Part 1: Setting the Mood.
,

1. Debra- Beck. Before anyone posts any Kanye West-like comments, I'll be the first to admit this song is style-over-substance. Mr Hansen here channels Prince to the nth degree, proving that a skinny, weird white boy can exude sex appeal like a modern-day Barry White. Also at 13 minutes, it makes a great song for some long, slow heavy petting or self pleasure.
Imaging yourself, perusing the photos and profiles of members, looking for that right body and personality. You become both aroused and intrigued by the sheer volume of like-minded people. So much choice...

2. Lets Go Sunning- Jack Shaindlin (Writer.) Okay, time for some subjectivity with this 1954 tune. The mysterious female singer brightly suggests going out for a sunbathing session. Now, remember this was released in the 50's, where a model in a full bikini would be titillating. Now couple that with the line, so innocently crooning: "Pretty flowers need the sun...". I don't know about anyone else, but the image of a 50's housewife goddess, lounging around in her bikini in the backyard. She looks around to find herself alone and hidden. Quickly she unstraps her top, sighing when her bare breast spill out, feeling the warmth of the sun caress her milky skin. She gently applies some lotion, shuddering as she massages her aerolas and nipples. She deftly removes her bikini entirely now, slightly parting her long legs and letting the rays reflect the light from her now moist pussy...

Part 2: Anticipation.

3. Alibi- The Mountain Goats. A website such as this has probably led to a nearly incalculable amount of meetings, where sex is bound to happen. Contact has been made, a location worked out, now all you have to do is discreetly get there. Alibi covers this immaculately in it's opening verse: I got off work just past 11

Laid one finger to the breeze

You can almost taste the action

On nights like these

Trees were bending in the wind

And you were 40 miles away

And I was headed your direction

I'd been waiting all day, i'd been waiting all day.

Mountain Goats founder John Darnielle is brilliant when creating micro-universes for his songs, and with this it's easy to imagine the excitement of jumping into your car, ready to meet this person you've chatted with and now you're going to stroke that body you've seen, taste their skin. As you start the car you already feel more primal urges course through you. There's already some dampness between your legs but you dare not touch, that will soon enough be at the attention of another....
