swingers is it a lifestyle or just another one night stand

swingers in the 70s there were key parties and swinger clubs and get togethers there was an new awareness and organized thinking of it like the elks or the pta or boy scouts we had our meeting places we had our members we could be ourselves socially without fear of rejection or being looked at as perverse . society may not have welcomed us but we where allowed to be swingers outside our own houses and meet people who we already knew where like minded on the subject . then the year 2000 comes and the social aspect of swinging seemed to all but disappear in the social world if you were not in a big city . now in seeking the social swingers of the 80 s i find in its place a different view of the swingers of 2016 the what i cal on night stand swinger. the place an add find a stranger or couple text email for a bit meet at a motel or similar place and hook up . and when the fun ends because it sex and kinky so it is still hot in my book but both sides walk away knowing you wont talk or see or interact with them again hence the label swinger one night or weekend stand . and i think that at least for me that is not the true nature of what being a swinger is so here is the question is swinging/swingers

A.. the 80 swinger with both the personal and social parts what a true swinger is
B.. the evolved 2016 one night stand new american standard of swingers
c.. something left to yourself and taboo to even be talking about
D... a little of both
E. an outdated long forgotten ideal that only exsists in my head and i should find a new hobby
