In 1975 I bought a 1973 Toyota Corolla at age 15. I had about 90 cars since that first one.

Sapiogurl replies on 5/19/2016 9:17 pm:

Ha! me too, I had a corolla early 80s I think.

Man you guys had nice cars. I had a Pontiac that I paid $50 for. Likely the best bang for your buck I ever have had in a car

There you go
That's all and none of it tragic.

A $50.00 special, 1959 Chevy station wagon. Was a great ski trip car for one winter. Got a dune buggy after that, had to have some kind of VW.

Sapiogurl replies on 5/19/2016 9:39 pm:

Dune buggy? Figures you'd have some kind of cool car like that Daddy J.

A 1958 red and white 4 dr hard top EDSEL. Damn that thing would run. A state trooper told me that another district trooper clocked me at 140 plus and couldn't catch me. Rode and drove like a dream.

Sapiogurl replies on 5/19/2016 9:41 pm:

Holy cow! I don't know too much about Edsel but sexxy looking car.

A 1974 lime green VW Dasher. It's best feature? Easily spotted in parking lots. It caught fire on Christmas Eve in Dedham, MA - even with all that, it was not the worst car I ever owned.

Sapiogurl replies on 5/19/2016 9:50 pm:

It could never be a "worst" car, it's a VW!

A 70 VW Bug! Dark green, wrecked on both end and not running! But became a beautiful blue Baja show car! Had a great time!

Sapiogurl replies on 5/19/2016 10:14 pm:

Just couldn't kill them...unless they are hit by an 18 wheeler as mine was...crunch.

Hey, I had the same '74 VW beetle. The engine block cracked.
I had two more and the same thing happened. They were old and
had tons of miles on them. But they were fun to drive!!

Sapiogurl replies on 5/20/2016 1:54 am:

Right on! The only issue I had was I had to "tuck it in" on cold nights so it would start in the morning. It wouldn't die until...I was hit by an 18 wheeler...CRUNCH.

I had me a 1980 Toyota Tercel (pronounced Ter, as in "turkey", cel, as in cell).

Boy, do I miss that car. It was green so I put a 6 ball on the shifter and it had a toothpick for a speedometer needle. Good times!

I think I wrapped it around a tree.

Sapiogurl replies on 5/20/2016 1:55 am:

My sister's first car was a Tercel (blue). I forgot about those cars. She had it forever.

True, but when it hit 120, pegging the speedometer, the passing gear kicked in.
Satellites had some get up and go. Always am missing country straight aways.
