Music

Music is one of the many pleasures in my life. I listen to it every day. I use it at work, while I am driving, while I read, while I work out at the gym. Lots of time it is playing in the background while I chat or write.

Included in my internet package is a collection of music channels of which there is an app for my phone. I downloaded the app to see if it was REALLY going to be free, as advertised.

I used it at work last week. WOW, I love it. I found one station that is all Classical Masters: Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, et al. I enjoy the music while I am reading or working because I don't want my mind inundated with words, this helps me to focus on my work. I sit at my desk and pop in the ear buds and zone in on my job.

Other times I enjoy fast beat music, like right now I am listening to the country music station, and I am having a difficult time putting my thoughts in print because the music is making me want to dance.

Back!! (30 minutes later) Had to go dance around my living room for a while, the music was telling me to dance… I had to go to my Classical Masters station to give me the focus to write.

I enjoy the fast beat music because it does get me wanting to move, I listen to it at the gym and I find it is helping me to keep the faster pace on the treadmill and Stairmaster. I have a little slower music for when I am doing my weight training. And if for some reason I don’t get to the gym (mainly on the weekends) I can do some cardio by putting on some fast pace music and dancing around my living room. Yes, I probably do look like a crazy fool, I really don't care since no one else is seeing me dance around my living room.

And yes the app is free as advertised. Although, I did downloaded it on my old phone which has no data and is only good for WiFi, therefore, no opps, I was out of WiFi range at work. I am using that one strictly for music and a couple of things I can't seem to get to work the way I want on my new phone.

How does music play a part in your life? What is your favorite music? Favorite song or artist?

My answers:
Favorite music is new country and classical.
Favorite song? That is a difficult one. Today I have to say Lee Brice - Life Off My Years.
Favorite artist? Another difficult one. Today… ummm Luke Bryan. Mmmm his butt!!!

I too adore music. Silence bothers me. I found out last year I have otosclerosis, and lack of sound causes tinnitus, lots of noises in my ear. So I have a sound machine at night too. I love pop, funk, and rock, and that's what I listen to at work. When I focus on my work, I often don't even pay attention, but it seems to keep part of my brain occupied. Otherwise, I might just start singing. I wake up with a song that has been playing in my dreams.

No words would be best for me, no one needs to hear me sing at work... lol. I might break an eardrum or two... I do have a co-worker who doesn't realize she is singing some days. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

You should always be careful when the music starts telling you to do things. First it is go dance..come on dance it up and then the next time you know..........

Sorry I had to...

There you go
That's all and none of it tragic.

As long as it is not telling me to strip naked in the streets and getting arrested, or any other criminal actions, all is good. I don't think my kids want to be bailing their Momma out of jail...

How does music play a part in your life? I like to have something on with everything I do (except sleep), to calm or not, to fill in soundless times.

What is your favorite music? Mostly rock from 50s thru 80s, some blues/jazz - no or country

Favorite song or artist? Way too many of both - Eagles and Huey Lewis come to mind.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I enjoy my quiet time as well, I am not one for noise all the time. I grew up with Boston, Eagles, Huey Lewis, Bon Jovi and more. I listened to most of these bands because my brother loved his music and his stereo, I just kind of tagged along...

Thanks for stopping by Red.

I do like music but I find I don't have music playing at home as much as I did in the past. If I am driving I listen to music. I prefer classic music over modern style music. Country classics and music of the 60's are my choice.

I sometimes like the quiet, although I am finding lately I would rather the background. If I am going on road trips I usually like music, just going to work, not so much. I would only get to hear a song or two before I got there.

Thank heavens for cruise control when it comes to music lol

How does music play a part in your life? It tries to keep time but mostly skips a beat

What is your favorite music? Depends on my mood

Favorite song or artist? ABBA [and no, therapy didn't help ]

Drop in and visit my blog sometime, but you'll probably regret it

I hear you about the cruise control, I don't need to be stopped for speeding anymore. My dancing sometimes skips a beat or two.. Maybe it was not the correct type of therapy

As I read your response the radio was playing Joan Jett then Aerosmith, which reminded me of Cheap trick and def Leppard and Heart, and can't forget Led Zep, Stones, Beatles etc etc etc.

Yes I remember those bands too, as well as Trooper, Rush, Toto, Styx. There are too many for me in the condition my brain function is in at this moment.

I am not certain that response made a lot of sense now that I read it again. In my defense I was just about to go to bed when I wrote it.
