Warrior Soccer Season Has Begun

Well it is that time of the year again. The High School soccer schedule is under way.The Warriors began the year the other day at Columbia High. I've heard conflicting reports as to whether they tied Columbia or lost 1-0.

Well tonight was the first home game of the season and it was one hell of a game. They played a rare early conference game against Edwardsville. The J.V. unfortunately lost to the Tigers on 2 second half goals.

But the Varsity game was a very good one. They played a scoreless 1st half with Edwardsville. But both teams scored 10 minutes apart in the second half.

They then played two ten minute overtime periods, but nobody could put the ball into the net, so we ended up in a tie. But what an exciting night of soccer it was and a good change of pace for me.

 My oldest son was always in soccer.... I miss those days of cheering him on from the sidelines.

That is so cool. We won the State Championship 5 consecutive years when I was in high school.
