This morning....
This morning.... The alarm went off on my phone... I had pry my eyes open just find on the night stand. Ugh... After swatting at for God knows how long, I finally managed get stop vibrating and rolled onto my back, groaning like I'd just finished a marathon. Cripe... The urge to just lay and drift was overwhelming, but I knew I couldn't and peeled the sheets back on my bed. My bedroom lit up like a lightning storm on the Serengeti. "Holy shit, must be getting dry in here. I think I zapped all the hair off my legs with that one." I looked down at the doggo as he stared up at me, ears perked, ready to pounce on the multitude of mini lightning bolts connecting my pajama clad legs and the sheet. It's hard to believe that 3 months ago was so much moisture in here that none of my doors shut properly and I was running a dehumidifier 24/7. Ain't if funny how quickly the worm turns... Happy Thursday! |

What time do you get up?🤔 I thought I'd set my phone on some sort of random music. It's supposed to start off reeeelee, reeeelee quietly - to give me a chance to gradually stir from my slumber. Gradually increasing the volume, for MY phone, means it takes one point two seconds before it's blasting louder than my f**king car alarm ⏰. FFS! Yep. THATs working out great. I'm looking into other options. 😶❗

Oh, I can't wait for summer. I don't even mind the swollen doors and humidity if it means beach time and walking weather.

I think living in the countryside does make things more extreme.

Sleeping nude really cuts down on the lightning displays in winter. "Too cold for that", you say? A heated mattress pad will keep you as warm as you require with a very low energy expenditure. Most of the time, I turn mine on for half an hour ahead of bed time, then shut it off when I get in. Blankets are warm and comfy, then body heat takes over for the rest of the night.

I have not needed an alarm to wake me for some time now as my internal one seems to be pretty regular about waking me. Usually too early for my comfort and too late to go back to sleep. Static electricity is another good reason I sleep in the nude. So while that is not a dry air problem waking with a dry nose and mouth is. Humidifiers are too noisy at night. Hope your day goes well and may warm weather show up early.

I have really, really dry skin myself. From time to time I get tiny eczema patches if it gets too dry, and now is one of those times. I have one on my arm, my lower back, and my hip right now, the size of a pencil eraser. How could something so small be so itchy??

Being an early riser anyway, alarm was set for 3:30 , when working but even after retirement and NO alarm , the dog or cat or both will be on the bed between 3 & 3:30 because they know after getting out of bed that the routine was too feed them then make a pot of coffee 🤠

I KNOW the beach is calling my name! Ugh.... It's snowing like hell out right now, winter is in full swing. I could definitely use some sun, sand, and flip flop weather.

Hahaha I closed in my front porch for the winter. I built a door par for the coarse it a thigh fit So I cut off what I could and in November It worked great til the first rain I got lock out of the porch. So once I got the door open I start to file Ann sand the top of the door till it open. Well it stopped raining and door worked great Til the rain storm so more filing and sanding till it open. Been working fine till the other day so I guess I have more filingand sanding to go. Soon they wouldn't be a door hahahahah I real don want to take it down but it might come to it. We have small humidifier on our night stand in our beds rooms. they work great.

I'm guessing it was your dog that was most alarmed?

Yup, that poor worm is now frozen and dehydrated. You may need to run a humidifier to help put some moisture back in the air. Also, dryer sheets can help with some of the static. When I change the sheets right now with the cold, dry winter air, I wind up getting zapped a number of times, even when touching the wood bed frame. lol I don't get zapped getting in or out of bed cause I sleep nude. No static build-up.
