 I would hope that, these being college students you are talking about, they would be fine with 'I've done the financial numbers and it rarely is cost productive to have a summer class'. End of story. As a full time student in college, I have had such a discussion with my sculpture teacher. He took the time to explain a little behind the financing of courses offered at a college level. It was interesting and helped me understand...

i give explanations. i do not just say no. one of these is angry, apparently the explanation was not acceptable. the other tried to try an alternative to the options i offered. he has been told no to the option he tried to create.
