Coronavirus So what are we looking for next in regards to reopening the US from stay at home and social distancing. We are looking for the leveling off of new cases and new deaths and then start to see a decrease in daily new cases and new deaths. I have posted two charts. Daily new cases seems to be leveling off. But notice the spike April 14th of daily new deaths. So we're not there yet. At the same time we should be ramping up antibody testing. With random sampling being done to determine the percentage of the total population who have developed antibodies an immunity to the Coronavirus. Antibody testing is twofold. It will allow us to determine the segment of the population that is able to safely return to work and also give us a percentage of the total population that has developed an immunity to the Coronavirus. Now the question is whether Donald Trump listens to Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx for the necessity to begin antibody testing to determine the degree to which we can reopen the US putting people back to work. With regards to antibody testing. There is only one company with FDA approval of their antibody testing kits a North Carolina company called Cellex. The FDA has relaxed its restrictions. There are another seventy companies with antibody testing. As of April 12th, there are no FDA-approved home kits where you can test for antibodies at home. If the company says so it's a scam. Yes we do not know how long the antibodies last in your body. And if the virus mutates enough the antibodies no longer work. "That's why these studies that are going on with plasma and giving plasma to sick patients to really see if that antibody confers protective immunity and help to the individual who is sick, as well as really doing studies with vaccines and looking, seeing whether the antibodies that are produced are effective," Birx said. When asked whether the US could see a resurgence in cases, like in South Korea, and if that was a result of those being infected not building immunity, Birx said “those are questions we still have scientifically.” Aside from HIV, people who contract most infectious diseases and recover develop antibodies, which often means people are immune. The possible consideration here is that Schools would reopen on Fri. 05/01 or Mon. 05/04. Students would complete remainder of Normal School Year. Social Distancing would be Rescinded, Wearing of Masks is their choose. Step 2; allow Essential Businesses to go back to Normal Days and Hours. Restaurants would Reopen dining rooms; although some folks will continue not to go in; their choose. Curbside could continue to help out business. Step 3; Opening of All Other Businesses. Each Step would be 1 to 2 weeks apart or ALL Reinstated at Any given Moment.

Thank you for this important update my friend our governor says he will not reopen our state for weeks or maybe months. He wants to see less hospitalizations more testing done and more recoveries before they make a final decision here. But when we do reopen it's not going to be like it was before there will be many precautions put into place so there is no reinfections. I hope you have a wonderful Hump Day..

From What I have read the antibody test are not very accurate as low as 60%. Perhaps there have been improvements I am not aware of? I hope so. Also there is little to no data yet on whether antibodies give you immunity or for how long that might be. I think both of those things need addressing before i will feel anywhere near safe in public. I am sure there are some very smart people working on both of the as we speak.

As of this morning; Wyoming is at 118 Active, 164 RECOVERED and had 2nd Death yesterday !!! It appears that Wyoming MAYBE on the downhill SLIDE !!!!

The test requires a blood draw at the point of care, and results can be analyzed by any laboratory certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), a federal government standard for ensuring quality laboratory testing of humans. A lab can get results within 15 to 20 minutes. CELLEX) A similar serology antibody test has been launched by Morrisville-based BioMedomics in partnership with BD (Becton & Dickinson). That test, which can yield results within 15 minutes at the point of care from a few drops of blood, is also allowed under the FDA’s public health emergency guidance. BioMedomics has also grown with the help of funding and other support from NCBiotech. The FDA has cautioned that antibody tests alone can’t be used to definitively diagnose active COVID-19 infections because antibodies to the coronavirus take several days to develop after initial infection. Molecular PCR tests being done with nasal or throat swabs, are also recommended as part of a definitive diagnosis. They detect the presence of the virus in the body soon after infection, while the antibody tests detect the body’s immune system’s battle with the infection, which appears several days after infection. Makers of antibody tests say the tests can help determine the true scope of coronavirus infections because the tests can identify people who had been previously infected but showed few or no symptoms.
