Stranger, Bearer of gifts Showing up unawares Waking the sleeping God and Goddess Crashing rudely into my world My neat, tidy predictable world Throwing askew, out of kilter With dangerous new possibility But then I’ve been waiting If I’m totally honest, a long time For you to show up suddenly A gradually dawning awareness Popping rudely into the open You see, I called you from my depths Violently in need, not knowing Where to turn, because my true needs No, my true dissatisfied self Refused to be denied! Then splashing loudly We leap into the deep blue As wave after wave washes Over our laughing, sobbing form Smiling In gratitude at the magnitude The random kindness Of our shared gift |
