The right to be ?

Saw a fascinating piece in the NY Post by Jonah Goldberg. Basically, it said you have the right to be wrong. Mr. Goldberg argues that it is the cornerstone for freedom of speech. When society tries to inhibit freedom of expression in whatever form, chaos ensues and blood flows.

I can go so many directions with this concept and indeed, I have rewritten this paragraph several times. Maybe it is better to open the topic for discussion. So, how about it? Do people have a right to be wrong?

A right to be wrong!? I'm all allowing to admit that they are wrong but to say I have a right to be wrong is like saying a student has a right to a failing grade.

Please don't let me be misunderstood.

Good morning! Political leanings, sexuality, and personal morals are not equivalent to solving a math equation at school. They are formed by our beliefs and experiences.

You have the Right to do anything , just accept there will be consequences to your "Anything".

Good morning, Heathen. Good to hear from you again. Ah, therein lies the rub. Over time, all beliefs and actions have consequences, both good and bad.

The right to say just about anything (except yelling "fire" etc.) whether it is right or wrong (ethically, factually, ignorantly or morally) - sure.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

If I am wrong, I do not want to be right.
