Webcam problems

Can anyone help, seems my webcam has decided to stop working in the instant<b> messenger </font></b>environment, all I get when I try to activate it is a grey screen.. the active x is up to date and my cam works if I want to upload a video and works on other platforms...

Anyone any ideas??
