Sexpositive and Sexnegative Whatever is said and done, man’s struggle with sex continues, the governments’ struggle with controlling illegal activities related to sex continues. In today’s world, morally perfect people are rare. Based upon the varied levels of interest in sex, people can be classified into many groups. Spiritual masters, nuns and Gurus: - There is indeed a minority of people who are sexually chaste and spiritually advanced like the people mentioned here. Their aim in life is to unite with God, or to reach heaven. They have deep knowledge about the inner self and they find pleasure in controlling their physical urges. They attract like minded people, poor common men and women and they inspire many people to lead an austere life. They belong to the top position in this list in terms of goodness and moral strength in them. But we must not forget the fact that there are many good people who are sexually driven. We will come to that group later. Family people who are faithful:- They form the beautiful, happy section of the world community. Such people might have had a sordid past, but once they start family life, they become faithful. Fantasies for extra marital affairs may be there at the back of the mind, but many people belonging to this group decides to lead a very pure life. Even though a lot of such family men and women may not get sexual gratification from their relations, they divert their minds whenever thoughts about illicit fun come. They are the ordinary and they are beautiful. They also find joy in social interactions and when they get suitable friends, they become happier. Sharing reduces the mind’s burden to a certain extent. Family people who look for extra fun:- People belonging to this group are not satisfied with only one partner and they look for adventure, fun and cheating. Businessmen, travelling executives, film personnel, sport stars, etc. get ample opportunity to mingle with other men and women and they seek a lot of fun whenever there is chance. Such people can be good or bad, depending upon their activities in other fields. There have been many sports stars who used to flirt with beautiful ladies and the news about them has appeared in the leading newspapers of the world, many times. Ilie Nastase, the tennis star of the seventies, Iam Botham, English cricketer, Wilt Chamberlain, Mike Gatting, Boris Becker, U.S businessman Ted Turner and another cricketer Vivian Richards, all had extra marital affairs, but the maximum setback they had to face was a divorce. Along with money and fame, sex was the next ingredient that gave their lives tints of glamour, fun and sometimes scandals. These people cannot be bad, because they had talent, ability, money and fame that enabled them to cope with the negativities of a broken family. Lovemaking was one of the factors that contributed to their image, one that made them what they were. I don’t want to spoil my life by marrying: Individual Daredevils: Now, as we move from the top to the bottom, the negative elements begin to appear more than the positive, and it is in this section that the adult film actors, producers, directors, sexy models, men and women who have entirely devoted their lives to sex and sex related activities come. The world did not have much pornography before the invention of the camera. There were some cave paintings and some art works that depicted the sexual act, but in those days their exposure to people was less. Now the world is totally different, and cameras, video tapes, computers and the internet fill every nook and corner. In the west, the laws were a bit liberal and freedom of expression became a right. In the sixties and the seventies, the pornographic industry boomed, and many men and women attained stardom in the field on the positive side, and many met with unnatural deaths and depression, on the negative side of it. John Holmes, Ron Jeremy, Seka, Uschi Digart, Jamie Gillis, Aunt Peg Anderson, the list goes on, of those who became stars in the field of something that normal family people cannot think of, cannot approve of. People with great mental strength, positivism and guts may become successful, but there are many adult actors and actresses who received the set back in their later lives. Aids killed many, including those who were not actors and actresses, but whose avidity was more than that was normal, and who led a life of multi relation. Indeed, this section of humanity is negative except for a few individuals who can be called successful because they still live a healthy life, without any feeling of guilt or remorse. But that is not at all a model for all. Highly sexed people do many things and they may reap success in areas where normal people do not tread, but they remain in their particular realm and cannot be accepted as people so valuable to humanity. Hyper sexuality, sexual indulgences,<b> perversion </font></b>and pornography were there in any period in the past. The people of the world are varied in nature, and it is by the virtues of a minority that the world maintains its moral balance. Some boys and girls develop sexual curiosity in their teens and they are somehow attracted to blue films, sex magazines and similar pornographic materials. More often, such end up doing the things they have watched. At an age it is all right, but if an individual continues to be avid for sex even after the age of forty five, it is not a healthy trait. Of course, there are old men and women who enjoy sex at the age of seventy, but if you do not have the circumstances that are conducive to such acts, it is a problem. This problem exists at other ages also. Sex becomes positive when you have the physical, mental, spiritual ( a mental stage that allows you to do things without the fear of being punished by God – this is a separate issue and I will explain it later) and economic well being that supports your acts. A question arises here. Isn’t sex a sin? Will we not be punished for it? Indeed, it is a sin, but, when you are still able to carry out your responsibilities well and are in good spirits, a little fun will only add to the sweetness of life. Over indulgence is the wrong thing as indicated in religious texts. Hindu philosophy of India asserts that when you dedicate yourself to your karma – your chosen field of work – and when you reap success, you have all the right to enjoy. Sex becomes sin only when you always think about it without fulfilling you duties. But any way, if you feel arrogant and proud of your sexual adventures, you will get enough from the top. So, people have to be very careful, they have to evaluate themselves on the grounds mentioned above, before deciding to do it. If you learn to postpone gratification, you will get good opportunities later in life. As an Indian and as a person who believes in the Hindu philosophy, I am sure that we all have been here before, we all have either been in heaven, or in hell or in both ( in different periods ) and our mind is made up of the strong impressions of sexual pleasure, happiness of being virtuous, pains of hell and the fear that we ourselves created. According to the Hindu puranas ( sacred texts that tells about human life and life after death in detail), there are 80000 hells and as many heavens. The variety of talents, traits, behavioral patterns, intelligence levels and abilities are all results of our presence in mainly these three realms – hell, earth and heaven. Life is a mixture of positives and negatives and no one in this world is perfect. In Hinduism and Budhism there are people who renounce the world and who live to attain salvation. They are the ultimate human beings, and in their path to attain the ultimate aim, they may get super natural powers like telepathy, psycho kinesis and the ability to know what lies far away. But they grow even beyond such abilities and aim the only one that is permanent existence, consciousness and bliss. If one attains spiritual bliss, he can completely forget sexual pleasure and enjoy something that is sublime, the most superior kind of mental peace and bliss. As an Indian I have to mention some of the practices in my country regarding our concept of living for good. When we sit in front of the meals we offer it to God before eating. Likewise, if we get good opportunity for legitimate sex ( husband – wife, lovers, group activities with consent among the team ), we can offer it to God. Along with the orgasm, you think about the supreme power who created sex in such a wonderful fashion. At the end of the worship in Hindu temples, we chant a prayer that says ‘Let all our thoughts and deeds done by our organs while asleep and awake reach the realm of God.’ By doing so we become more positive than before and mind becomes clearer. So, as we all look for happiness and success, it is better to be in the middle of the band of sexuality. First and the purest are the religious leaders and the gurus, then the family people, then the family cum some entertainment people, then the polygamists, then the porn stars and porn addicts and lastly, those who solely live for sex. Carefully handled, we get everything, and all is well that ends well.   |
