Women who post a profile get spammed with hundreds of messages and dick pics from guys who clearly don't meet their criteria. The women often pay nothing but it takes them a lot of time and a strong stomach to power their way through all the emails.

Men who post a profile get a half-dozen requests from women working as cam girls or<b> . </font></b>When they find someone who looks interesting, they message them and usually hear nothing back. Is the person real? Uninterested? Overwhelmed? There's no way to know.
