Rome

I was born in Rome, Italy and have spent a third of my life there. One of the many things I do is tour around the monuments, ruins, museums and cafe society of the ancient city. There is nothing like walking in the footsteps of Michelangelo or Caesar.

The stones speak to me. I can rebuild the ruined buildings with my architect's mind's eye. I inspire others to do the same.

Life in Rome is so different from that of New Yor Here, we rush from appointment appointment, our noses in our phones and rarely do we look up admire a structure or look another in the eyes. When I get off the plane at Leonardo da Vinci airport, I don my Italian skin and walk slower, looking at everything. I expose my the pace of Italian life, the wonderful meals and cafes where we drink until all hours and watch the passersby in the streets with their families and lovers.

Lovely photos! And everyone is always rushing, instant gratification. I love taking the train to Boston and walking to the Marketplace and Faneuil Hall. I walked the Freedom Trail twice and each time gawked at the buildings I missed before. I know what you mean about stones speaking.
