Universe of Deception
How can one be honest in a world where everyone lies? In our internet connected world, truth is not nearly as important as how one wants the truth to be. I may in truth be old, out of shape, and unattractive, but I wholeheartedly wish to be the opposite. There’s no penalty for the lies and misrepresentations. Hence we walk in a universe of deception and attempt to adapt to an environment of active manipulation and misrepresentation.

I don’t perform well in this universe. I keep having the impulse to be<b> truthful. </font></b>At least my version of truth. I think I’m a good guy. My ex thinks I’m a perverted evil demon. Even worse, I tend to think everyone is<b> truthful </font></b>whereas studies exist showing that most people lie about their age, their body type, or some other attribute. So I appear as the near perfect mark or prey in this environment. I am slowly learning to be less trusting and more skeptical.

One must question the value of truth in this Universe. Does it provide benefit in any way. I hope it has value, but I’ve little supporting evidence. It thus far appears mainly to be a vulnerability.
