Did You Know ...
1) Male bats have the highest rate of<b> homosexuality </font></b>in the animal kingdom, especially fruity bats (duh)

2) Halloween was based on the ancient Celtic Holiday, All Hallows Eve. It was the only day that the dead were allowed to wander the earth (guess they haven't been to the clubs in my town on a Saturday night)

3) Bats are not blind ... they also are not rodents (yeah we know ... they're gay)

4) None of the Witches put to death during the Salem Witch trials were burned at the stake. They were all hanged except one who was pressed (crushed to death under a huge stone (I guess burning was considered cruel and unusual )

5) The Black Plague was caused in part by the rounding up, caging and burning of cats. People thought that the cats brought power to witches. With most of the cats dead ... the rats multiplied and the disease spread. (I guess like all things ... pussy in moderation is good for your health)

6) Vampire bats have fewer teeth than any other bat species (again duh ... they only need the two and they don't have to chew their food)

7) Vampire bats in the same colony support their roost mates by regurgitating blood to bats that are unable to find food (ick ... and so is born another form of welfare)

8 ) 25% of Americans believe in ghosts, 10% claim to have seen one. (Wonder what the percentages are in Transylvania?)

9) Lon Chaney was actually set to play Dracula ... Bela Lugosi was a last minute change (I think Dick Chaney is much scarier than Lon ever was ... hunting anyone?)

 My mind is still absorbing the Gay Bat thing. How do they know? Who did the study? It seems a little, um, gross. Watching bats have sex to determine if they are Gay. Was that study commissioned by the Southern Baptists Conference, I wonder. Sorry, I was side tracked. Informative post. I enjoy trivia. Grandfather? Really?
