This is kind of sad....but I just feel the need to write it down. It's not necessary to respond here.....I just want to get it out of my head and into words.

This is the internet.....and sometimes I'm guilty, as most of us are, of deluding myself into thinking that all of you are real. And all of you care about me....about each other. Today, I tried to catch up on my watched blog list reading. I had grandkids here all weekend and hardly got on the computer at all. I've read one friend who's leaving. One who is angry at another one.....and might leave. Someone else who got banned due to a spat. Someone who is back after a lengthy absence.

I love this place called blogland. But I feel today rather sad. I feel like things are broken. I feel like the real world has really punched me today. And blogland is in a state of unrest as well. I love all of you.....but there are several people here that I have an extra special place in my heart for. And today.....I just feel like a burden to them. Like I let them down....and in turn have let myself down.

Forgive me my sad, pitiful rant here. I'm a fixer.....and I just feel like its broken in a way I can't repair.

When I first started blogging......it was a place for me to express my own anger of finding my husband here......sort of making a fool of himself.....or so I thought. I thought of this as a place of people full of themselves and just trying to live their life for sexual pleasure only.

I was SO wrong!

Instead, I found people who are intelligent, caring, and very sexy. Sure, this is a sex site, and we all enjoy our sexual pleasure....but it is so much more than that. I found people, younger than myself, who knew so much more than I did about so many things! I found people who were hurting from some of the same things that hurt me. People who just want to find that someone that will be there for them through thick and thin. And people who cared enough about me to see me through another scare with cancer and my horrible fear of surgery.

The comments you make are your gift to me! I love reading them and responding to them! Sometime today.......one of you will be my 10,000th commenter!

How do I say thank you to you all......for being my favorite gift in life?????

The 10,000th commenter may request his/her prize!

Angel and the Crabs!

Having a seafood dinner with some friends the other night reminded me of a funny story.....and I thought I'd share it with you all.

Growing up in Ohio.....the "fanciest" seafood we had was fried flounder. I never really developed much of a taste for lobster, shrimp, clams or crab. But when I got married....my husband loved seafood of all kinds. I tried to like it....but for the amount of money you paid for a lobster, I'd rather have a steak.....medium rare, thank you.

But one day, someone gave us a bushel basket of crabs. And the little suckers were alive! My husband bought a crab pot....some Old Bay seasoning.....and then went off to a rehearsal for an opera that he was singing in. He assured me that I'd have no trouble cooking these "living" things.....and that he'd pick them for the meat when he came home.

I'm an independent woman.....and there isn't much that can throw me! So, I thought I'd just cook these things in the name of all womanhood! So, I put my girls to bed.....started the water boiling in the crab pot.....and went out to the garage to get this bushel basket of living, crawling, really ugly crabs! Dragging it into the house was an adventure as some of them had crawled out....and some were trying to crawl out. I had these long tongs and kept putting them back in that darn basket. I actually felt sorry for them because I thought they must know what was in store for them.....and I'd try to escape too.

So, the pots getting hot.....and I grabbed some of the crabs and put them in a bowl.....go over to the stove and dump them in the crab pot. I turned around and reached for the Old Bay seasoning. When I turned back to the pot.....they were crawling out....all over my stove.

I flipped out.....started screaming.....all the while trying to get those damn things into that pot again. Sprinkling them with Old Bay....and grabbing them as they kept trying to climb out. Old Bay trails left by crabs all over the stove......me in tears......and my two little girls standing on the head boards of their beds praying at the top of their lungs....."Please Jesus, help my mommy!"

Needless to say, after cooking those crabs.....finally figuring out that I had to hold the lid down until they died.....I have never eaten crab.....never want to eat crab.....and probably never will eat crab. I cried and cried as they clawed at the lid of that pot until they died.

The little girls who prayed for their mommy? The love the stuff!

The Sounds of Blogland

It's no secret that I'm a people watcher. I love airports for that reason.....I could just watch people coming and going.....and imagine the stories behind the good bye kisses and hello hugs.

That's probably why I love blogland so much. It is like living in a huge apartment building with people from all kinds of walks of life. And even better......it's kind of like having x-ray vision and being able to look behind the doors and into the lives of all of you.

As I travel through blogland, I hear all kinds of sounds. The laughter of genuine happiness....the sobs of sorrow. I hear the joy in newfound love or the catch in the throat as you hold a newborn baby. I hear the tears of uncertainty......the sadness in being alone. I hear the sound of pain.....pain of a broken heart....the loss of a loved one. Or the worst of all....personal pain in sickness....in the possible end of life.

So tell me.....as you travel through blogland...what kind of sounds do you hear? What kind of sounds are you drawn to? What sounds do you run from?

Have you ever met someone.....really liked them....couldn't wait to be around them....and yet, you never thought of sex with them?

Someone who was cute....even dressed sexy....but never made you think of sex?

Someone that made you feel at home, easy to talk to, made you comfortable....but you didn't want to jump their bones? Never even thought about it?

Have you met that person that makes you laugh? That you made plans to see again before you even finished the night? But when you went home and crawled in bed that night you didn't even wonder what it would be like if they were there with you?

Did you ever stop and think that you might just be missing out on the love of your life because that someone didn't "fit" the mold in your mind of that perfect partner? Maybe they weren't six feet tall with blond hair and blue eyes and a six pack to kill. Or maybe they didn't have long legs and perky tits......or long hair.

Did you?

This was sent to me by my husband....but I think it is worth passing on to you. Not only parents can benefit from reading this....but even as adults, we need to know that the people we are talking to and communicating with here on the internet may not always have our best intentions in mind. Feel free to reprint and pass it on.

Need To Know Who They're Talking To

Yes, it takes a few minutes to read...but we need to keep this going for
every in America!

Shannoncould hear the footsteps behind her as she walked toward home.
The thought of being followed made her heart beat faster. "You're being
silly, she told herself, "no one is following you."
To be safe, she began to walk faster, but the footsteps kept up with her
pace.
She was afraid to look back and she was glad she was almost home.
Shannonsaid a quick prayer, "God pleas e get me home safe."
She saw the porch light burning and she leaned against the door for a
moment, relieved to be in the safety of her home.
She glanced out the window to see if anyone was there.
The sidewalk was empty.

After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and get
on-line.
She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213.
She checked her Buddy list and saw GoTo123 was alraedy logged on.

She sent him an instant message:

ByAngel213:

Hi. I'm glad you are on! I thought someone was following me home today. It
was really weird!

GoTo123:

LOL You watch too much TV. Why would someone be following you? Don't
you live in a safe neighbourhood?

ByAngel213:

Of course I do. LOL I guess it was my imagination cuz' I didn't see
anybody when I looked out.

GoTo123:

Unless you gave your name out on-line. You haven't done that have you?

ByAngel213:

Of course not. I'm not stupid you know.

GoTo123:

Did you have a softball game after school today?

ByAngel213:

Yes and we won!!

GoTo123:

That's great! Who did you play?

ByAngel213:

We played the Hornets. LOL. Their uniforms are so gross! They look
like bees. LOL

GoTo123:

What is your team called?

ByAngel213:

We are the Canton Cats. We have tiger paws on our uniforms. They are
really cool.

GoTo123:

Did you pitch?

ByAngel213:

No I play second base. I got to go. My homework has to be done before
my parents get home. I don' t want them mad at me. Bye!

GoTo123:

Catch you later. Bye

Meanwhile.....

GoTo123 went to the member menu and began to search for her profile.
When it came up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took out a
pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far.

Her name: Shannon

Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985

Age: 13

State where she lived: North Carolina

Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and going to the mall.

Besides this information, he knew she lived in Cantonbecause she
had just told him. He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m.
every afternoon until her parents came home from work. He knew she
played softball on Thursday afternoons on the school team, and the
team was named the Canton Cats. Her favorite number 7 was printed on
her jersey. He knew she was in the eight grade at the Canton
Junior High School. She had told him all this in the
conversations they had on-line. He had enough information to find her
now.

Shannondidn't tell her parents about the incident on the way home from
the ball park that day. She didn't want them to make a scene and stop
her from walking home from the softball games. Parents were always
overreacting and hers were the worst. It made her wish she was not an
only . Maybe if she had brothers and sisters, her parents
wouldn't be so overprotective.

By Thursday, Shannonhad forgotten about the footsteps following her.
Her game was in full swing when suddenly she felt someone staring at her.
It was then that the memory came back. She glanced up from her second base
position to see a man watching her closely.

He was leaning against the fence behind first base and he smiled when
she looked at him. He didn't look scary and she quickly dismissed the
fear she had felt.

After the game, he sat on a bleacher while she talked to the coach.
She noticed his smile once again as she walked past him. He nodded and
she smiled back.

He noticed her name on the back of her shirt. He knew he had found
her. Quietly, he walked a safe distance behind her. It was only a few
blocks to Shannon's home, and once he saw where she lived he quickly
returned to the park to get his car.

Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to eat until the time
came to go to Shannon's house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and
sat there until time to make his move.

Shannonwas in her room later that evening when she heard voices in the
living room.

"Shannon, come here," her father called.

He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why. She went into the room
to see the man from the ballpark sitting on the sofa.

"Sit down," her father began, "this man has just told us a most
interesting story about you."

Shannonsat back. How could he tell her parents anything? She had never
seen him before today!

"Do you know who I am, Shannon?" the man asked.

"No," Shannonanswered.

"I am a police officer and your online friend, GoTo123."

Shannonwas stunned. "That's impossible! GoTo123 is a my age! He's
14 and he lives in Michigan!"

The man smiled. "I know I told you all that, but it wasn't true. You
see, Shannon, there are people on-line who pretend to be ; I was
one of them. But while others do it to find and hurt them, I
belong to a group of parents who do it to protect from predators.
I came here to find you to teach you how dangerous it is to talk to
people on-line. You told me enough about yourself to make it easy for
me to find you. Your name, the school you went to, the name of your
ball team and the position you played. The number and name on your
jersey just made finding you a breeze."

Shannonwas stunned. "You mean you don't live in Michigan?"

He laughed. "No, I live in Raleigh. It made you feel safe to think I
was so far away, didn't it?"

She nodded.

"I had a friend whose was like you. Only she wasn't as lucky.
The guy found her and murdered her while she was home alone. are
taught not to tell anyone when they are alone, yet they do it all the
time on-line. The wrong people trick you into giving out information a
little here and there on-line. Before you know it, you have told them
enough for them to find you without even realizing you have done it. I
hope you've learned a lesson from this and won't do it again. And tell
others about this so they will be safe too?"

"It's a promise!"

*****NOW*****

Please send this to as many people as you can to teach them not to
give any information about themselves. This world we live in today is
too dangerous to even give out your age, let alone anything else.

EVEN FORWARD THIS TO PEOPLE WITHOUT SO THEY CAN SEND IT TO
FRIENDS THAT DO HAVE OR GRANDCHILDREN.....

My computer crapped out on me yesterday, so I've been catching up on blogland today. WOW! The Bambi's and micahbiguns are leaving. [blog flyaway1012] has a great post today, but the rest of her blog is gone! Is she leaving too?

And then there's PassionKisses4me who asked if we wanted to watch. And the challenges to "show our stuff" from many like thecliticals and puntachueca.

This got me thinking that I really haven't seen anything! This place here on Adult Dating zone called blogland just fascinated me when I first came on here....but I Feel A Sin Coming On!

So what would you like to show me if you could?

Would you like me to watch? Would you like me to join in?

Would you just like to buy me a Diet Coke? lol
