We went to McDonalds today and got us a drink while we were doing our grocery shopping, and this is the first time we have been there since they started their monopoly game. I peeled my game pieces off and was really surprised that i had one of the pieces for the $1,000,000.00 prize. Then i stopped to think, i really wasn't all that surprised about it, cause i usually end up with at least one of those pieces. Then i thought, wonder if anyone we know in blogland might have the second piece, lol. Too good to be true, i know, but, can't hurt to wish, can it?

Also, i got a large sweet tea, and noticed that i didn't get any gamepieces on my cup. I asked the cashier for a gameboard and why i didn't get any gampieces on my cup. She said that they didn't have them on the tea cups and they were out of gameboards and that they weren't going to order any more game stuff. I thought, well, ain't that the shits!! I also thought that was the most rediculous thing i have heard all day. I thought about writting an e-mail to McDonalds about it or even calling their phone number, then i remembered that i would have to probably talk to some foriegn land that i couldn't understand the language of, or not hear anything about the e-mail i sent, so what is the use of wasting my time.

A Candlelight Vigil

As some of you may have heard by now, my cousin's husband (who was also the sheriff of the county we live in), died.

Today, while reading different things on a site called topix, my husband found a post saying that there was going to be a candlelight vigil held in front of their home. After calling a few family members to see if they had heard about it,(and they hadn't), my hubby and i drove down to their house to see if it was true. When i made the turn onto their street, i was totally shocked at all the people that were already standing there. I pulled over to the side of the street and parked. I walked up to the yard, and found that my aunt was there. I talked with her for a few minutes after giving her a big hug and she told me that my cousin's 2 daughters was going to try to come, but they were all taking this really hard, and didn't know if they would show up or not. A few minutes later, my cousin and her whole family pulled up. We all lit our candles and they played the song "In The Arms Of The Angels". A prayer was then said, and a few people stood up and said a few words about him. It was a very touching time, several tears, hugs, and thoughts were shared by a small community of family and friends. After a little bit, people started walking down to the garage door (where he was actually found), and set their candles, notes, teddy bears, and other things for him and the family.

There are a few things, even now, that are uncertain about his death. The coroner's report leads you to believe it was suicide, but, everyone that knew him, knew he wasn't that kind of man. His wife has even said that there wasn't anything that they didn't talk about, and there wasn't anything that he was upset about at the time. She has also stated that if it had been suicide, he wouldn't have done it there at the house where his and wife would find him and he would have left a note or been some sort of sign that this was coming. There was nothing. His 11 year old is the one that found him first and called for help. The house has been turned back over to the family, and my cousin wants to go home, but their , refuses.
I was very proud of them all, to face their biggest heartbreak, by coming back to the house, for the vigil.

He was a great man. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He was always a happy man, laughing boisterously, and picking on everyone he saw with lots of humor.
He will be missed greatly.

If You Want To See A Movie.........

If you want to see a movie, then i advise you not to watch "The Happening". We rented it last night and thought it was totally not worth it. It was lame, boring, and just plain stupid. It definitely wasn't what the trailers made it out to be. There were a few scenes where the people were killing themselves that was a little interesting, if you are into that kind of thing, but that was about it. To me it wasn't worth the pain of giving it 2 thumbs down.

Why is it that when i am not on my computer, i can think of a zillion things to blog about, but when i sit down to write about them, they all just vanish in to thin air?? And when i do get a blog idea, it's always at a time that i can't write it down for future reference. Like when i am driving down the road, on the phone with family or friends, grocery shopping, or standing in line to pay for puchases.

I wish i had a better memory so i could remember what all i want to blog about when i sit down. I think i need to go buy me some ginko biloba or something like that to help improve my memory.

Oh well, if i remember anything that i wanted to blog about, i will be back, lol.

ANYONE GOT HELP??

It seems like my body has gone to hell for me. I know getting older isn't easy on a body, but DAMN!!!

While going to various doctors, we have learned that i have arthritis in my knees, feet, right elbow, and right shoulder.
Now i think i may also have it in my lower back. We think it may be basically called sciatica. While sitting, my lower back goes to hurting, then i get sharp burning pains that start in my right hip and goes down my right leg, into my foot. When i first lay down on my back, it feels like my spine is having to "settle" into place, which also sends pains down my legs and up my back. I can't seem to hardly turn over without quite a bit of pain either. And i don't know why, but, it seems that the only way i can get comfortable in bed, is to lay half on my side and half on my stomach.

What i would really like to know is, if anyone out there has any good remedies for the pain, other than taking a shit load of drugs, to help alleviate it. I hate going to doctors as you all may know by now from reading some of my previous blogs, and i won't go till i most absolutely have to. But at the same time, i know i can't really work like i need to with it hurting me like this. My husband (Bibs) has tried using a massage unit on my back, and it didn't do anything to help, other than maybe showing a few of the most painful spots on my lower back.

So, if anyone has any suggestions, i would greatly appreciate them.

Thank You Very Much.

I got up this morning and went to the beauty salon and got my hair chopped off. Now i feel much lighter, and feel like i look pretty. Strange how something so little, can make you feel so good, lol. I may not actually look better, but i feel like i do and i guess that is what counts the most. I always hate having to try to explain how i want my hair cut tho. I don't go for the trendy cuts, i'm more of an old fashioned, feather my hair if i feel like it, pull it up out of the way if i don't feel like it, quick and simple type person, lol.

Do you go for the trendy cuts or are you a simple person like me??

Why is it, that when you go to a doctor, you go to have them do a certain thing for you, and they turn you around and do what they want to do??

I went to see the foot doctor the other day, expecting him to cut out a spot on the bottom of each foot, that has pressure calluses on them. That is what he had originally told me he would do to them. Instead, he used his little scalple and shaved the tops of them off, and put some acid lotion on them with a bandaid over them, to "eat down to the core of the sore". He said he didn't want to cause me any more pain or blood than necessary. BULLSHIT!! I think he just didn't want to do it. My hubby went to him a few weeks ago to have 2 ingrown toenails completely removed, and instead, the doc only cut out the ingrown parts, left them all jagged, and was supposed to send off a sample to be tested to see what kind of meds he could give the hubby for the slight fungus he has. The hubby has asked several times if the results had come back yet, and they keep "forgetting" to tell him what they were. Completely blowing it off it seems. The hubby has also been after our regular practioner, to get him on the chantix pills, to help him stop smoking. He has been after her for about a year now, and she just keeps pushing it off. HELLO!!, if a patient is asking for help to stop smoking, don't you think you would be all for helping?? I mean, I would if it were me being the doctor.

It just seems strange to me, that i go in there and pay a high price to see a doctor, and they do what they want to with my body. It almost seems like they think they know what my body needs or wants better than i do, well, they don't. It is just as much a guessing game for them as it is for us, only they get paid a hell of a lot more money to play with my life than i do.

Ok, guess i can stop bitching now and find something else to do.

I just noticed that i have made it over 5 watchers, lol. guess that's a personal best for me, lol. To all my watchers, sorry i don't post a bit more often, but as at least one of you knows, i haven't been feeling all that well for a bit. I was stupid and thought i could go for a while without my medications, and it really ran me into the ground. I was so tired, sleepy, sick at my tummy......etc. But thankfully, the hubby made me go to the doc and get back on my meds. She did however take me off one med and put me on another, and found out i can't take it. She put me on FENOFIBRATE for my triglycerides, and it caused me to run a slight fever, hurt in my chest ( almost like i was having pluricy pains ), weak, sick to my tummy, tender in the chest cavity, and a few other things. I am going to have to call the doc on Monday and have her give me something else, cause i stopped taking the ones she gave me.

Have a Good Day All

I finally finished resizing and editing all the pictures i took at my cousin's wedding last weekend. It took me so long to do them cause i took almost a hundred photos. They all look pretty good, except the one's that i had to lighten up due to bad lighting in the church. Some turned out fine, while others were so dark, that you couldn't hardly make out what was in the picture. After getting all that done, i decided to play with a program that came on my computer, where i could make a movie out of the pictures and add music to them. I toyed with several effects to the pictures, while trying to figure out what song i wanted to use. I finally settled on the song by Bryan Adams, "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)". Then i tried to burn it to a cd, but it wouldn't let me, cause it wasn't a dvd. So, i searched the computer room upside down, until i found the box of dvd's that i had bought by mistake, and burned it to one of them. I didn't know if what i was putting on the disc would turn out like i wanted, but i hoped it would. As i was arranging the pics, they were only showing up as little normal size pictures, but i was hoping that they would turn out showing full screen size when playing the disc. After burning it all to disc, i played the disc to see if it did what i wanted, and to my relief and surprise, it looked pretty damn good, even if i do say so myself. My hubby even told me i did pretty good for my first time, lol. I plan on playing with that program a bit more, and trying to fine tune it. I hope to give it to the happy couple as a Christmas present, as well as one to my Aunt for her Christmas. I hope they all like it.

What A Day!!

Yesterday was one heck of a day. It started out nice and sunny, not too hot, light wind blowing, a perfect day for a couple of birthday's and a wedding. My cousin got married to his lovely bride at 3:00 p.m. and it was a beautiful ceremony. It took us all by surprise when he started crying when he said his nuptuals. Everytime someone asked if he was nervous, he would just laugh and say no, he was excited. He managed to get through all the words without messing up, and the preacher even told him not to worry about the tears, that he too, cried when he married his wife. The bride was scared to death before the wedding, and managed to no cry when she said her parts. She was very pretty and so was her lady court. The gentlemen were very handsome. At the end of the ceremony, while everyone was standing in line congratulating the happy couple, i told my cousin, that i was glad to share mine and my husbands birthdays with them, and could not think of a better way to celebrate the day. My aunts came up to me and told me happy birthday and said they were sorry that they didn't tell me earlier. I simply told them to not worry about it, that it wasn't my day, but the happy couples. You could tell all the hard work that went into setting up for the wedding, and it all looked great. I really am happy for them, but boy am i beat!! lol.

It's too hot, I just can't breathe,
It's all in the way you look at me.

Half closed eyes, slightly parted lips,
I can't wait until we kiss.

The touch of your hands, a light caress,
My feelings for you, I can no longer suppress.

This is part of a poem, that popped into my head. I thought it would be fun to see what you all can come up with to finish it. Good Luck!!

Confused on what to say

I sit here confused on what to say to a friend of my family's that has just passed away only a week and 2 days ago. Today ( August 2nd ) is/was his birthday, and to say "Happy" Birthday, just don't sound or feel right. Just what does one say (or think)? I have been thinking about this since last Sunday, when i was at his visitation. I was doing this so i wouldn't break down and cry because i knew that was what he wouldn't want. And let me tell you, this was the strangest yet neatest funeral visitation i have ever been to. Upon entering the funeral parlor, you are greeted with music blaring in the same room with the deceased. It wasn't all the gospel songs you normally hear at funerals either. It was songs like "Stairway To Heaven" and some country songs too. Then when you walked into the room with the pews, you were greeted with a t.v. screen showing a video of pictures of him growing up. Pictures of him laughing, acting silly, getting married, him and his animals, him and his , sisters, brothers, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, him riding horses and bulls, etc..... It was really neat and sad at the same time. I found myself thinking, "hey, i remember when he looked like that." Then i looked at the little card they give you at funerals that has all his information on it, like his birthday, death date, pallbearers, etc... and there is this "poem",( I call it that cause i have no idea what it is actually called), and a picture of him above it.

This is what the "poem" said:

TOGETHERNESS
DEATH IS NOTHING AT ALL... I HAVE ONLY SLIPPED AWAY INTO THE NEXT ROOM. WHATEVER WE WERE TO EACH OTHER THAT WE ARE STILL. CALL ME BY MY OLD FAMILIAR NAME. SPEAK TO ME IN THE EASY WAY WHICH YOU ALWAYS USED. LAUGH AS WE ALWAYS LAUGHED AT THE LITTLE JOKES WE ENJOYED TOGETHER. PLAY, SMILE, THINK OF ME, PRAY FOR ME, LET MY NAME BE THE HOUSEHOLD WORD IT ALWAYS WAS; LET IT BE SPOKEN WITHOUT EFFORT. LIFE MEANS ALL THAT IT EVER MEANT. IT IS THE SAME AS IT EVER WAS; THERE IS ABSOLUTELY UNBROKEN CONTINUITY. WHY SHOULD I BE OUT OF YOUR MIND BECAUSE I AM OUT OF SIGHT? I AM BUT WAITING FOR YOU, FOR AN INTERVAL, SOMEWHERE VERY NEAR, JUST AROUND THE CORNER. ALL IS WELL, NOTHING IS PAST; NOTHING IS LOST. ONE BRIEF MOMENT AND ALL WILL BE AS IT WAS BEFORE.

As i sat there reading that, and looking at his picture, i couldn't help but let a few tears flow. I thought that "poem", was not only pretty, but also spoke alot of how he was in real life. It was almost as if he had picked out the message himself.

Anyways, I kinda got off my original subject of being puzzled as to what a person says on someone's birthday, when they have passed.
If anyone could help me, i would greatly appreciate it.
